After its outstanding reception following its initial release back in January, Wankelmut & Emma Louise's infectious single - 'My Head Is A Jungle' returns with a souped up package and is set to be released worldwide on 15TH September via Positiva. Heavily supported by BBC R1's Pete Tong, 'My Head Is A Jungle' was dubbed his 'Essential New Tune' back in February as well as receiving championing support from BBC R1's tastemaker Annie Mac. It comes as no surprise that the single is already platinum in Italy, top 30 in Germany (and rising) and top 5 airplay in South Africa!

Wankelmut who has mainly been deejaying in underground clubs in Berlin such as Sisyphos and MIKZ, became 'Newcomer of the Year' last year (GROOVE Magazine) and has been in high demand as both DJ and Remixer ever since. Wankelmut has a very entertaining and well crafted way of deejaying with a huge variety of styles from Deep House to Techno. Beside playing all over Europe he remixed Gossip, Jay Haze, Lukas Graham and various other underground records which established his status within the Techno House Scene. On his 24th birthday in December 2011 Wankelmut aka Jacob Dilßner uploaded his unofficial remix for Asaf Avidan's "Reckoning Song' to Soundcloud. More than one year later the now official remix has sold 1.3 Million copies on Sony/Columbia, scored over 100 Million Youtube Plays and entered the #1 spot in 8 european countries, as well as being the best-selling track on Beatport last year.

In cooperation with the talented Australian singer Emma-Louise, the duo deliver a finely tuned piece of melodic brilliance. Wankemut's faultless Tech-house production, and Emma-Louise's blissful vocals will have you instantly hooked and will be circling around your head for days to come. In addition to the supreme remix package from Gui Boratto, Kasper Bjorke and Solee, new remixes come from Friend Within, and Marc 'MK' Kinchen, who steps up to deliver one of his much loved MK edits which premiered last Friday on Pete Tong. 

Over the summer months you can catch Wankelmut playing at Urban Art Forms, Big Festival, Melt!, plus back to back gigs across Europe.

Dapa Deep ft. Leusin - Glance (Deep Sound Effect remix)

The title of Max Cooper’s “Stochastisch Serie” EP, refers to his use of stochastic methods, also known as non-deterministic, or random methods of sound generation. Stochastic elements referring here mainly to real sounds including vocal experiments and sampled sounds which create a complexity and richness which has been a trademark of many well known Traum releases in the past.

The London based artist Max Cooper sees his new 12" as a construction of different moods going beyond club music, as witnessed in the past through tracks such as “i” and “End of Reason”. It is no surprise that “Dischordance” is another one of these timeless pearls alongside these mentioned tracks that have created a fan base worldwide for him. The friction Max generates is created by two sides colliding, the synthesised drums and melodies and the random experiments with voice. His dance floor rockers “Stochastisch Serie” and “Mnemonic” work in a much more functional way but do include bits of this randomness and therefore are part of the superstructure “Stochastisch Serie”.

The remix of UK producer Leeks is very hip in style and sound and will please a lot of younger DJs who love the cool swing and groovyness with music and will find the functionlism here going very strong. Microtrauma from Germany turn the track upside down in their remix, taking out the elements that create the tension and incorporating them in their subtle beat, creating a steady flow of deep music

The excellent Wolfskuil Records has been a playground that balances underground talent and highly established artists with ease seeing artists such as Juan Sanchez, Steve Rachmad, Marcel Fengler, Tommy Four Seven and Ricardo Villalobos making contributions.

Label boss Darko Esser looks to the 37th package and once again introduces an artist that has only previously appeared on their recent Secret Weapons 1 package.

London based Rumah comes with a solid pedigree of music already on James Ruskin’s Blueprint and Seb Wildblood’s Church project, where A View To The Sea sees four tasty solo tracks on wax.

For this DT:Premiere we selected the third track titled “DOR” for it’s combination of mood and floor ability. Jacking and captivating, the melody adds emotion whilst fading in and out, leaving you chasing the note tails on a solid and energetic rhythm.

Sloboda reissue of this rare gem from the heydays of Adelaide techno. Originally released as a one-sided vinyl in 1999, the record fell into obscurity largely due to a great number of damaged copies being discarded. Recovered from the original DAT recording, "Outer Rim" has been carefully re-mastered and cut inside-out with reference to the original pressing.

The AA-side features the previously unreleased "Region 114", found on recordings of studio sessions from the same period.

DC172 comes on behalf of Brazilian born Vinicius Honorio, a now London based producer and DJ who is making some serious in-roads amongst a new breed of techno artists. Having already released on labels such as Pig&Dan’s Elevate and dubspeeka’s Skeleton, the next natural step in his progression comes in the form of a release on Drumcode. 

‘Through The Darkness’ is a masterclass in darkened techno grooves, with each one of the four tracks managing to show off Honorio’s skill as a producer and just why he is firing on all cylinders. The release kicks off with ‘Walking Shadow’, a track that has been a key part of Adam Beyer’s sets at the tail end of 2016 and in to the new year. This tense, brooding affair has certainly garnered a lot of attention of late and it’s clear to see why. The title track ‘Through The Darkness’ is a much more of a stripped back cut, jam-packed with a haunting vocal hook, driving basslines and slick drums. This is one for the late night mischief makers. ‘Desolate’ is another hard-hitter, managing to perfectly balance that signature Honorio groove and pounding drums that adds depth to his productions. The release closes with the atmospheric ‘Out For Blood’, which is loaded with vintage rave stabs and weighty basslines – This one is meant to played in dark and sweaty rooms.

In time for the 20th anniversary of his label Hospital Productions, Dominick Fernow offers the first release of his Techno-focused moniker Vatican Shadow on Ostgut Ton, following up on his Berghain residency and joining Ostgut Booking in 2016 with his Vatican and Prurient projects.

The Cocteau Twins/This Mortal Coil-channelling, beatless widescreen opener “They Deserve Death” and the two collateral club/dancefloor tracks “Rubbish Of The Floodwaters” and “Weapons Inspection” offset each other by reincarnating the tape manipulation that laid the foundation of Vatican’s first performances with analog hardware and minimalist midi-dissection. Produced in Los Angeles with Josh Eustis, Vatican Shadow’s Rubbish Of The Floodwaters EP casts a full spectrum picture of where the project was born and where it headed.

Since launching the project in the late ‘00s, Frankfurt’s Gerd Janson and Phillip Lauer’s Tuff City Kids moniker has become synonymous with quality that’s seen them cement a reputation as specialist remixers. The duo now reinterprets two Radio Slave productions released a decade ago.

Their take on ‘Bell Clap Dance’ captures the essence of the original by factoring in its various elements, such as its intricate hook and gloomy melody, whilst morphing it into an animated and echoing contemporary cut. Radio Slave’s ‘Screaming Hands’ then receives two new versions; the ‘Dreamscape UK Mix’ is suitably titled thanks to soaring pads, subtle breaks and a mesmerising bassline, whereas the ‘Krautdrums Mix’ meanders forward with distorted kicks, stuttering effects and raucous acid.
