The idea for remixing 'Endless Wave' came about whilst reading about a fantastic photography book by Michael Moir & Jamie Brisick called 'The Eighties at Echo Beach' (check it out btw it's well worth it)

The book is essentially a beautifully nostalgic look at surfing during the 80s, and whilst looking at the images online, the original 'Endless Wave' came on random within iTunes, and the rest is history...

Imagine if Don Henly's 'Boys of Summer' & 'Kim Carne's 'Bette Davis Eyes' had a child, and that child grew up and fell in love with Solar Stone's 'Seven Cities' and you'd be halfway there...

A showcase of fresh talent from the global electronic scene, Anjunadeep’s Explorations EP series returns for its nineteenth instalment, featuring Sascha Braemer, Mr. Sosa, Sinca, Moon Kyoo, MXV and Kaisland.

Kicking off the compilation is ‘Bad Behaviour’ from Berlin-based DJ and producer Sascha Braemer. Best known for his tracks ‘Caje’ and ‘Raoui’, Braemer’s decade long tenure has seen him released on labels including Get Physical, Kindisch and Stil vor Talent. Pairing Dom Fricot’s vocals with plucked synths, Braemer’s latest marks an exciting Anjunadeep debut.

Next up, Mr. Sosa, a British producer with releases on Last Night On Earth and Misplaced Records to his name, lands on Anjunadeep with ‘Euphoria’, a single showcasing his emotive production style. 

Based in Montreal, Sinca marks her artist debut with ‘Mancora’ - a euphoric track that leads with percussive-laden grooves and bright piano chords. Sinca’s latest affirms her positioning as an up and coming DJ and producer. 

Also marking his first release, South Korean producer Moon Kyoo touches down on Anjunadeep with ‘Between The Suns’. Leading with cascading melodies and pulsing basslines, Moon Kyoo’s latest showcases his detailed productions reminiscent of acts including Lane 8 and Ben Böhmer.

An intricate blend of intertwining synths and delicate chords, UK-based producer MXV delivers the emotive track ‘Only Want you’. MXV’s delicate sound design has seen him release on labels including Eat My Hat Music, Mango Alley and ICONYC.

Rounding off the compilation is Argentinian / US trio Kaisland with ‘Let The Rain Fall Faster’. Blending layered vocals with ‘80s-inspired synths, the trio demonstrate their chemistry as songwriters and producers.

Handpicked by curators Jody Wisternoff & James Grant, the Anjunadeep 13 Sampler hosts 6 highlights from the compilation, featuring Westseven & Ross Farren, Bantwanas, Oliver Wickham, Cornelius SA, Hessian and Simon Shackleton.

Following his debut on Ajnunandeep Explorations 06, Malaysian producer Westseven pairs up with Ross Farren in ‘Muse Of Mine’, the opening track on this year’s Sampler. 

South African collective Bantwanas return to the label with their track ‘Inthombi’, featuring vocals from Noni Jali. Following their Anjunadeep debut ‘Dignane’, the collective have been supported on BBC Radio 1, KCRW and Kiss FM. 

Next up is Canadian producer Oliver Wickham with his track ‘World Away’. Oliver first debuted on Anjunadeep with his collaborative cut ‘Dear Ben’ in 2020 and has since gone on to release his track ‘Indigo’ on the label in 2021. 

Based in South Africa, Cornelius marks a bold return to Anjunadeep with ‘Soaring, following his debut on Anjunadeep Explorations 18’. Leading with delicate melodies and perucsive laden grooves, Cornelius demonstrates why he’s released on labels including DAYS like NIGHTS and mau5trap.

Bristol based producer Hessian is next on the Sampler with his track ‘Rain’. Anchoring on pulsing strings and a warm bass, Hessian showcases his intricate sound design, utilising nature recordings in the build-up. 

Closing out the EP is a fresh remix of Simon Shackleton ‘Traumstaat’ from Jody and James. Leading with the original emotive string lead, the duo add soft synths and a rhythmic drumbeat to the track.

This additional remix is by one of our beloved resident artists - Anthony Mea. And it's a gorgeous liquid drum'n'bass interpretation in the best traditions of Anthony's works for Spring Tube Liquid.

02. BDTom - Save The Earth

In 1995, the iconic Hooj Choons released the original of this, which instantly became a classic in the clubs. It wasn't until its double-CD & vinyl release on Tidy Trax in 1998 with remixes from the likes of Red Jerry and Invisible Man that I became aware of it personally. It stuck with me since.

With my recent explorations into the 80s and early 90s, it seemed like a perfect track to give the PERSONA1600 re-work into an early hours comedown track.

Swedish phenom Claes Rosen, the "Man of Melodies," made a triumphant return to our imprint several months ago by contributing a euphoric remix of The Midnight's "Tokyo Night Train." We are overjoyed to now present "Diverse," Rosen's first EP on our label in many moons. As we ease ourselves into 2021 clubs may still be closed but that hasn’t slowed down nu-disco star Tim Bernhardt, AKA Satin Jackets. Now he’s partnered with up and coming UK vocalist Tailor on new single, ‘Relapse’, and again struck gold as Tailor’s vocals, touched with a sense of nostalgic melancholy, are the perfect fit for Tim’s smooth mix of disco beats and evocative melodies.

“‘Relapse’ is about a relationship that you know is destructive in the long run but you can't help going back to,” explains Tailor. “Those moments of bliss, excitement and then serenity are fleeting but you'd rather stay lost than face the reality. The song’s influenced by the dance floor and the vibe you get when you lose yourself to everything in the moment, but deep down you know the feeling can't last.”

Having clocked up more than 50 million streams on Spotify alone for his 2019 album ‘Solar Nights’, 2020 saw Tim build on that with a string of acclaimed instrumental releases and hit collaborations with Metaxas and Panama. Kicking off 2021 in fine style ‘Relapse’ is sure to follow in their footsteps and once again is as perfect an accompaniment to chilling on the sofa as it would be to nursing a cocktail around a pool.
