Inspired by Bruce's struggle with hearing loss, Monophonic takes the listener on an emotional roller coaster. In 2005, doctors discovered a destructive cyst called a cholesteatoma growing inside Bruce's left ear. After surgical removal of the cyst and reconstruction of his ear, he was left with severe hearing loss, tinnitus, and reoccurring ear pain. These emotional experiences were translated into the music and artwork that make up Monophonic.

With mixing and mastering by Magnus Lindberg (Cult of Luna, Pg.lost), the five track EP is dark, melodic and explosive, taking musical inspiration from bands like Explosions in the Sky and Russian Circles, to those outside of the post-rock genre such as Pink Floyd and The Cure.

Spurv [Norwegian for sparrow] is a Norwegian instrumental post rock/metal band, founded in 2011. The band consists of Herman Otterlei (guitar), Gustav Jørgen Pedersen (guitar), Eirik Ørevik Aadland (guitar), Hans-Jakob Jeremiassen (bass), Simon Ljung (drums) and Simen Eifring (trombone).
 
The band has previously released two records, the EP Blader som faller til jorden og blir til nye trær (Doognad/Diger, 2012) and the debut album Skarntyde (No Forevers, 2015). The second album Myra is out on Fysisk Format 01.06.18!
