Isaac Lehmann — aka IL — has been a trusted force in Perth’s underground electronic music scene for over 25 years. Known for deep, immersive journeys rather than linear mix sets, his performances are crafted to be experienced from start to finish — living, breathing soundscapes that unfold like ritual.

IL’s passion for electronic music was sparked in 1994, when he was introduced to the rave world by expat Europeans. By 1997, he had taken to turntables himself — blending analog discipline with an ever-evolving ear. His sound draws influence from pioneers like Oliver Lieb, DJ Misjah, Carl Cox, Commander Tom, Richie Hawtin, and Sasha — but his curation is all his own: intuitive, transformative, and deeply felt.

Guided by decades of dancefloor devotion and an encyclopedic knowledge of genre and groove, IL has become a fixture at bush parties, boutique festivals, and warehouse rituals across Western Australia. He’s played for some of the scene’s most respected crews, including Hooked Entertainment, Chainsaw Cobra, Damage Control, Prolapsed Third Eye Productions, Twisted Jah, Moonbase, Mad Hatterz Productions, Spaceboiz, HomeTree Collective, Begged Egg, DS Events Australia, Shoreline Productions, ACA Soundsystem, Deliriom, and Public Tranceport

His 2022 debut at Blossom Festival marked a new chapter, with a return in 2023 on the main stage of what has become WA’s premiere boutique gathering. He’s also featured on Melbourne’s Kiss FM, Perth’s iconic RTRFM Looney Choons, and a range of respected podcasts in Australia and abroad.

For IL, DJing isn’t performance — it’s transmission. Each set is a carefully sculpted, emotionally resonant arc that aims not to impress but to transform. With 2025 and beyond calling, IL continues to prove that time behind the decks only sharpens the blade.
