Born and raised in Beirut, Lebanon, Jad Alexander is a producer and DJ currently living in Lausanne, Switzerland. His musical inspiration has deep roots, going all the way back to when he was just 3 years old dancing in front of a mirror to Michael Jackson. With quite musically oriented parents, Jad thrived on his exposure from a young age to large acts such as St. Germain, Kruder & Dorfmeister and the Thievery Corporation. His memory is engraved with long car rides as a kid when his parents would play music for extended periods of time: “I clearly remember listening for hours to St. Germain as I stared out the car’s back seat window watching the world pass by.” Jad also acquired instrumental skills such as playing the piano by the age of 14 and participating in his high school Jazz band where he alternated between tenor and alto saxophone. 

Jad's musical style developed during his teenage years, not only through his early exposure to electronic music, but also to his first hand exposure to some of the finest clubs in the world where he would find himself lost in the music. His musical taste and style moved to another level of refinement when he moved to Switzerland chilling with the right people at the right time. 

In producing tracks, Jad's creative vision is driven by extensive experimentation with analogue equipment. From analogue synthesis to analogue effects, Jad appreciates particularly the luscious and silky sounds released, so rarely heard in today’s music.

Margaux_plays is Lausanne (CH) based and has played many instruments since a young age, but DJing is his preferred way to share music. You can book him for a gig anywhere in or near Switzerland. They are also open to making podcasts (at the moment listening to the Ghostcast series).

Since discovering electronic music in 2012, he has spent many nights on the dancefloor in Switzerland (Elysia, Folklor, les Copains d'Abord to name just a few) and elsewhere (mainly in Berlin at the Panorama Bar, Wintergarten, Hoppetosse / CdV and the like).

In 2016 he decided to learn how to spin records, and since then they mainly DJed in rave parties in his home, the canton of Vaud. He also has performed for the 10th anniversary of Nicolas Duvoisin's label "Fantastic Friends Recordings". He has got a residency at l'Âge d'Or (@lagedor.lausanne), is a founding member of the collective Triangulate (@triangulatelausanne) and is part of the organizing team of the Club Paillettes nights (@club_paillettes). 

In addition, he never misses an opportunity to pay a visit to their favourite record stores (LEGRAM, Yoyaku, Elevate, Black.round.twelve, deejay.de…), sometimes spending the whole day digging for the next gem! One musical element he constantly has an ear out for is the 'groove', that state of musical grace where the track seems to have taken off rhythmically.

If the names of his favourite clubs and record stores ring a bell, you may have already guessed that the music they play is greatly inspired by a minimalist approach. This is something that he also cultivates in other areas of his life.

Margaux_plays_ (AKA the_librarian)  est basé à Lausanne (CH) et joue plusieurs instruments depuis tout jeune, mais le DJing est sa façon favorite de partager la musique qui le fait vibrer. Depuis sa découverte de la musique électronique en 2012, il enchaîne les marathons nocturnes sur le dancefloor, en Suisse (Elysia, Folklor, Les Copains D’Abord pour citer quelque noms) et ailleurs (affinités particulières avec la capitale allemande et ses Panorama Bar, Wintergarten et autres Hoppetosse / CdV). 

Il décide d'apprendre à mixer derrière deux platines vinyle en 2016, et ses expériences derrière un DJ booth ont majoritairement eu lieu lors de de rave parties dans sa région natale (Vaud).  Il a également eu l'occasion de jouer au 10ème anniversaire du label Suisse "Fantastic Friends Recordings". En ce moment, il est titulaire d'une résidence à l'Âge d'Or (@lagedor.lausanne), est membre fondateur du collectif Triangulate (@triangulatelausanne) et fais partie du commité d'organisation des soirées Club Paillettes (@club_paillettes).
 
Sauf force majeure, il ne manque en général jamais une occasion de se rendre chez ses disquaires préférés (LEGRAM, Yoyaku, Elevate, Black.round.twelve …), passant parfois la journée entière à creuser pour dénicher la prochaine pépite ! Il tend notamment l'oreille pour détecter un élément musical en particulier : le 'groove', cet état de grâce musicale où un morceau semble décoller rythmiquement. 

Pour les personnes reconnaissant les noms précités, il est d’ores et déjà évident que la musique qu’il joue est grandement inspirée par une approche minimaliste – qu'il cultive également dans d'autres aspects de sa vie.

Effemar, a Swiss-originated music act led by Doane Allan, emerged onto the music scene in late 2020. The inaugural single, titled 'Deep Sea,' made its debut on the German label Selected and remarkably garnered over 3 million streams within a mere month of its release. This initial success set the tone for Effemar's subsequent works.

Effemar's overarching aspiration lies in bridging the divide between niche and mainstream music, all the while retaining its unwavering artistic integrity.
