karma Void is not a band.  It's just one guy picking a name that has a cool meaning.  It's an attempt to capture some songs I wrote, recording them into little demos.  

I started recording as a learning tool, playing along with drum loops and recording bits and pieces of things to help me hear what I was actually doing.  "Mr. Anafrost" was the first song I wrote.  I recorded it with a paper microphone and a shoestring cable run directly into an egg carton.  You will notice the excellent quality if you listen to it.  After that song was in the can, others came along.  

These recordings were all done at home using various versions of Acoustica's Mixcraft (DAW).  My studio is not sound proof.  It's actually not a studio.  It's really just an office.  Not a very sound-friendly office, either.  There are points in these songs were you may be able to hear the furnace blowing, the neighbor children screaming or a truck rumbling by.  I've done my best to keep all that out of the mix but sometimes I would just let it go.  This is not serious.  Nothing is.

Latency Demo was record in 2010.  "Latency" being the title because of the millisecond delay between tracks and my inability to monitor myself.  No fault of the DAW, the issue was the old PC I was using.  Spark Demo (2011) and Four Skies Demo (2012) were recorded on Mixcraft 5 with a new PC, a condenser mic and a PreSonus Audiobox.  I could now monitor myself and the latency was no more.  Deep Basement was recorded on Mixcraft 6 (2013).  So if you want a chronological listen, start at the bottom of this page.  

Drum and Percussion loops provided by Mixcraft.  I've yet to master drum programming so please try and stomach the drum loops.  I sometimes cringe.

A collection of board tapes from the legendary Green Bay venue known as Concert Cafe (1995-2000) and Rock & Roll High School (2001). These are raw transfers of master-to-unknown-low-generation copies, no equalization, no compression, no post-production of any kind unless as noted. All tapes are downloadable as 24-bit/44 khz wav files.
