We wrote this on a thundery night in our new studio in Hampstead Garden Suberb in North London. We had signed the biggest pay out deal during the d&b days when an advance was a massive amount of money. But not wanting to look uncool by being on Polydor we started Passenger Records as a front!!! And we are still running it now, though the Polydor involvement stopped in 1999. Fun times!!!

Anne is a distorted synth affair, with a dream-pop-shoegaze style all fitting together thanks to a 4/4 beat and sidechain compression. Hypnotic and surprising at the same time, the song certainly reassures us about Ricardo’s hardworking search for noise.
