This brand new episode of Lazpod, the first in AGES, was inspired by seeing Stevie Wonder in concert last week. He reminded me that, in this time of trouble around the world, the one thing that keeps us sane and together is... love.
 
For many years I have been adding and subtracting songs from this compilation... my ultimate collection of love songs. These are songs about the joy of being in love and in some cases, they depict the despair we feel when we are without love.

I discovered whilst making this that you cant beat the classics and every time I tried to add in a fresher, "cooler" track, it just didn’t stand up against the rest. So, here it is, the return of Lazpod. I hope you can feel the love vibes and enjoy this one over years to come.

Lazpod is BACK.

Moonboots - Guest Mix

Moonboots started DJ-ing back in 1988 following the acid house explosion in the UK.
After many nights out at the Hacienda he got himself a job working at Eastern Bloc Records in Manchester. He worked there for nine years and this led to many DJ-ing slots around MCR at nights such as Luvdup, Most Excellent and Robodisco.

He then started his own night, Aficionado with another local DJ, Jason Boardman. This ran every Sunday for ten years and featured guests such as Todd Terje, Greg Wilson, Phil Mison, Bill Brewster, Sean P, Mudd
and most of the UK's underground Balearic and disco DJs.

Since then, it has run as a quarterly event and is now into its 16th year.

Running alongside the night is his& Jason's highly rated 12" vinyl only label, Aficionado Recordings. Now up to the 10th release, it has featured releases by Shawn Lee, Joan Bibiloni, Brenda Ray& Tempelhof.

As well as guesting all over Europe and the US, Moonboots compiled SoundColours Volume 3 in 2000& Originals Volume 1 for Claremont 56 in 2008. He has also compiled the forthcoming Javier Bergia album on Emotional Rescue and curated the Is it Balearic 'First Five Years' collection from the summer of 2014.
