I wanted part of my Emergence show to be about the emergence of the human machine, with an infographic-style visual tour of the different modules of the human body - lungs, heart, blood vessels, brain, and more. Henning M. Lederer, who created the amazing video to "Numb", took on the project and created some beautiful video content, and I then created the music to match.

Anatomic is now the fifth free download in the Quotient series - original pieces of music, remixes and mixes that are free just for you.

Anatomic was created in an unusual way for me, as a scored part of my new Emergence audio-visual show.

Henning's work is hand drawn, and this video work was also colourful, so I made the music quite playful and lighter than my usual - to match the fun, but also full of meaning, visual content. This section of Emergence also shows the mechanical, ongoing, cyclical nature of the workings of the human body, so I applied the same reasoning to the music, with many melodic and rhythmical loops of different lengths and forms, which create interesting syncopation effects as they interact in a continuous flowing structure, without breaks or stops.

Anatomic is very much a piece of music most at home in the live show, I hope you can join me to see it sometime!
