      "The Cassandra Effect  is the one-man work of David Blais from Portland, ME; who writes, records, and mixes all of his own music. The Effect's music is based on a conceptual method of production that attempts to audibly capture elements from various mental images using a hybrid of instruments and electronics; with unique arrangements and manipulated timbres suited to each track's primary theme.

The latest effort, "South America Ep" takes you on an aural transcendence to a fantasized version of the continent, exploring topics from virulent behavior-altering fungi located deep within the jungles of the Amazon rainforest, to spiritual renewal found through drug-induced alternative medicine.

With its meticulously automated synthesis, heavily saturated 808's, Japanese Taiko drums, melodic guitar leads, throat singing and more, The Cassandra Effect's "South America Ep" is guaranteed to be an uncommon, yet gratifying experience. "
