Smashed Atoms aka Steve Gladdis has been making warm underground disco nuggets on the sly for the past decade gaining support across the board. His sleek production skills have gained respect from the likes of Greg Wilson, the Paper Records crew and of course Fingerman and his Hot Digits Music imprint. After the runaway success a few years ago of “Cut This Way” on the label, Smashed Atoms returns with his most accomplished work yet, the “Moving Parts EP” featuring Crazy P style disco anthem “Lifted” featuring the one and only Kathy Diamond on vocals. Its a warm beautiful song about the power of a good beat and what it feels like to be literally Lifted off the floor. A possible future classic. The release also features a sleek Dub Version for those who prefer it. 
Then we move onto more mid tempo deepness with Smashed Atoms teaming up with the mysterious Backdoor Man for “ All The Time”, a perfect warm up track with smoky indie vocal stylings and cheeky nods to 80’s retro lyrics. Hot Gorilla’s Andy Buchan steps up to remix the track for the final cut taking the brooding vocals into more Indie Nu-Disco territory with awesome analog stabs and flurries.

The wax is ready to be trashed once again as numero 8 drops in our continuing "Trash The Wax" compilation series!
There’s a few returning folk from previous Paper Disco outings with Danny Russell & Ronald Christoph dropping another chopped up disco funk bomb on ‘Future’s Gonna Get You’.
Brian SNR is back with us and a wicked slo-mo chuggy n dubby offering of ‘Hot Shot’ whilst JB Dizzy breaks out the arpeggiators to devastating effect on ‘Freak Street’ and Gaël De L’lvresse in duo with Sophie De L’lvresse (now just going by De L’lvresse) presents a wicked bass driven infectious romp with ‘Field River’.

Elsewhere there are offerings from long standing friends & members of the Paper family with Joe Morris making a long awaited return on a great piece of late night smoke & lasers style shenanigans on ‘Smoke & Mirrors’ plus there’s Kooky & Damoon dropping more slick disco sounds, From Beyond with another cosmic sounding slice of brilliance and Pico going all trippy with his offering.

Oh and from newcomers we have some jazz-esque edit vibes from Secret Soul Society, a classic gets cut up & rearranged by Jahn Solo whilst there’s an incredible but of 80’s soul/post disco sounds from Paper Street Soul.

Stephen knows a thing or two about disco, being an esteemed producer, great DJ and the mastermind behind the excellent Disco Daze show - one of the best shows out there and my personal go to for keeping up to date with the newest and best disco releases.
