قتی در لایه درونی و عمیق فیلم رستگاری در شائوشنگ دقیق می شویم متوجه خواهیم شد بیانگر نگرشی است که بسیار شیبه یا حتی می توان گفت برگرفته از ژرفای بینش مولاناست، از این جهت که انسان می‌تواند در اوج نامیدی و زندانی بودن، به واسطه وسعتی که از جهان درونش است، سرشار از امید و احساس آزادی باشد و یا برعکس این که حتی اگر ظاهرا آزاد هم باشد، با وصل نبودن به این جویبار جاری شده از جهان زیبای درون، آزاد نباشد و احساس رهایی نکند یا به نوعی وابسته باشد.
💬ره آسمان درون است پر عشق را بجنبان
پر عشق چون قوی شد، غم نردبان نباشد

💬به درون توست یوسف چه روی به مصر هرزه
تو درآ درون پرده بنگر چه خوش لقایی

احساس آزادی از ژرفای نگرش و هوشیاری انسان نسبت به زندگی سرچشمه می گیرد و با مراقبت از این هوشیاری به سطوح بالای جهان معنوی دسترسی پیدا می کند، جهانی که مصالحش ارتعاشات متعالی این درک و هوشیاری است.

چو دو دیده را ببستی ز جهان جهان نماند

«رستگاری در شائوشنگ از آن دسته از فیلم‌هایی با موضوع یکسان نیست که صرفا بخواهد به مخاطب خود هیجان ببخشد. به کار بردن واژه «رستگاری بار معنوی با خود به همراه دارد.
زندان نمادی است از دنیای فانی ما. همانطور که جناب عشق مولانا، بارها در اشعارش بسیار عمیق اما ساده و قابل فهم سراییده که:
💬این جهان زندان و ما زندانیان
حفره‌کن زندان و خود را وا رهان

💬یکی تیشه بگیرید پی حفره زندان
چو زندان بشکستید همه شاه و امیرید
زندانی که از جنس وابستگی است. ذهن می تواند ابزاری در اختیار روح باشد اگر درست از آن استفاده شود یا این که زندانی باشد که در آن گرفتار باشیم. همانطور که فردی به نام بروکس در فیلم رستگاری در شائوشنگ از تغییر بیزار است و هیچ حسی نسبت به آزادی ندارد. خیلی از انسان ها در دنیای ذهنشان زندانی هستند، دنیایی که بدلی غیر واقعی از جهان درون است. جهان زیبای درون جایگاه هویت واقعی انسان به عنوان روح است.
همانطور که جناب عشق مولانا خیال خوب و بد (توهم) را متفاوت از یکدیگر می داند:
💬آدمی را فَربَهی هست از خیال
گَر خیالاتَش بُوَد صاحِبْ‌جَمال

💬ور خیالاتَش نِمایَد ناخَوشی
می‌گُدازد هَمچو مومْ از آتشی
قدرت تخیل را می توان فکر روح نامید که با کمک آن می توان از هوشیاری و نگرش ژرف تری برخوردار شد، نگرشی که ما را به سرمنزل مقصود می رساند و این اندیشه ناب است که به ما امید می بخشد
