bīs is the musical project of Robert S. Bise, a former rhythm guitarist and vocalist for the Washington/Baltimore-area band Equal Opportunity. Mr. Bise was a member of the band when it competed at the 2003 FORTUNE 500 Battle Of The Corporate Bands and when it won the Northern Virginia Technology Council TechRocks 2004 Battle Of The Bands competition. Mr. Bise has performed at various coffee houses, open mics, and karaokes in the Washington, DC area.

Born into gospel, raised on R&B and hip hop, came of age on standards, thrives on electro, and has a soft spot for pop.

Occult Stereo - a solo/open-collab project from Alex Eliopoulos (of San Francisco's experimental rock collective Impuritan) - embraces aural freedom in many forms, from ambient soundscapes to fuzz-guitar freakouts and drone-like psychedelic oceans. Alex is a Greek-American guitarist & multi-instrumentalist who combines experimental, psych, and art rock influences in spontaneous ways.

Live, OS occupies a unique space that combines traditional songs/structure with improvisational, noise, and wall-of-sound intensity. Dual guitar & bass amplifiers provide a full-spectrum sonic wash, creating an otherworldly vibe when combined with manipulation of beats, electronics, and voice.

In 2020, OS released "Plasma" on 12” vinyl - featuring impromptu contributions from musicians & friends in the US and globally. The LP received positive reviews, and was followed by a whirlwind relocation from the USA to Europe.

A digital EP - "Free Roam Syndrome / Zero Sum" - was released in 2021with a few select EU live dates in 2022. OS then entered a creative wormhole for the next full-length release, with only two "official" live EU dates (Berlin in 2022 and Athens in 2024).

"A Temporary Utopia" was released June 5, 2025. The album is a melting pot of noise rock, psychedelic, shoegaze, acoustic, industrial, ambient, drone, and improvisation. Contributions from others also elevate the sound to new levels for these 11 songs.

In the past, Alex has shared stages with an eclectic array of artists like Azalia Snail, The Veldt, Ava Mendoza, 3 Leafs, Naxatras, Avi Buffalo, Coastlands, Death Hawks and Clipd Beaks. His music has received US west coast radio airplay on KALX, KZSU, and KFJC, and KOCF, and inclusion in San Francisco Public Library's "Bay Beats" archival collection.
