Supah Mpondo

Short Background

Birth name Andile Nyembezi. Originally coming from the forgotten dusty rural corner of Eastern Cape, in a village called Bizana. A Durbanite since 2013, Where he joined a university based arts organisation Keen Artists and became the music coordinator. A seasoned slam poet, battle-rapper and Hip-Hop artist active from 2013 to present.

Accolades

Current State of Poetry Festival
The first ever poetry meets theatre festival in Durban, was held at Playhouse by Current State Of Poetry. Supah Mpondo and Sqwayi Khumalo were contracted to write and act in a two-man hour long play. The play was titled The Blood Line, a gothic drama about a young boy who lost faith in church after the loss of his mother, and seeks the path back to righteousness. The two actors interchanged characters of hostage, priest, teenager with multiple personality disorder and servant. The task was completed in a space of two months. Supah Mpondo was solely responsible for composing original music, rhyme dialogue and coordinating musical instruments. The festival ran from July 23- 26, 2015.

Faceless was nominated for Original Material Awards - Mixtape of the year category. The mixtape featured singles like Go!!! & Ce Thru Rappaz which received rotation on Gagasi FM.

ILLegible was released digitally and the single Slow movin'
 received positive reviews on Slikour Online plus rotation on Gagasi FM.

Current Projects
- Safe & Supah
In 2016 Supah Mpondo merged with DJ/Producer Safecutz to form a duo. The  single "DO HE ROCK" which was released in 2017 received positive reviews from Move Hip Hop SA & Commit or Quit. The headlined their first event at Retro Bazaar and is currently working on an EP scheduled for release mid 2017.

- Playing in Mud
A collaborative venture with Thaw Odd Sounds which features the breakaway single Him a Bad Guy. The tape features 5 songs and was release at 07 July 2017 (because the date looked cool).

G-Theory music production house which is formed by two producer Leugain and Kardal on 2010 A.D.They started their carrer in this field when they are in class six,they started by writing rhyme and that rhyme change into 8 bars rap when they are in class seven,because of their deep interest in music they start to learn Guitar and Paino in small age,with the increase of age they started to beat box by learning stuff in internet and watching video in you tube of da well know beatboxer Razel...When they are in the age of 16 they came to know about beat making softwares like FL STUDIO and DURBO TUB..They started to make simple beats on dese software..becuz of there beat makin skillz they gain popularity between frenz / families and relatives..So they thought to open da production house and they open and put da named as G-THEORY..G is da first letter of their caste..G-Theory makes variety of beats not only they just make Hiphop and like that,they also make Orchestral Gothic Sound..G-Theory are plannin to move forward by opening their studio in there own building..Presently G-Theory Beats is runned in Leugain's House with there own studio..
