Being that it is a song about Detroit that includes a blending of different styles and eras in music, today's Interbay track has a lot in common with the Interbay track "Detroit"--which was the 205th SoundCloud Exclusive track.  

(That's so long ago, some of you may not have been BORN when that track came out.)   

(Exaggeration for comedic effect, there.)  

This is a motown-like rave-up track, a real r&b floor mover, blending soul and jazz and crazy modern glitches...all in service of a narrative themed around one of the best jazz musicians in history who spent some formative years in Detroit, with snippets clipped from a radio interview about said musician, on the debut of a film made about that era.  

...but, let's be real here.  This track is all about the trumpet.  For all of the synthpop and techno/house and effect-laden post-punk you so often get from Interbay, it is always nice to play in a more traditionally instrumented sandbox.  (It certainly made my embrace of the Electronic main tag for this track a bit cheeky.  Maybe more than a bit--but I have both reasons and justifications for that. ;) )

And the people that have made "Kick Off Your Shoes" the most listened to Interbay track of the SoundCloud era...I think you'll enjoy THIS track as well, because it comes from a similar place.  

And then, because of course I did, I Interbay'd all over everything.  

The only thing I'll say, if you get to a part of the song where it sounds like the mp3 got corrupted or a CD started to skip--that's intentional, that's part of the track and not a technological fault.  (And it is the source of my reasons and justifications for the Electornic main tag on this track.)  

If nothing else, this should be a welcome burst of energy on a Friday to get you pumped for the weekend.  (Unless you're not listening to this track on the day it's come out, in that case, this track should be a welcome burst of energy NO MATTER WHEN YOU'RE LISTENING TO IT! ;) )
