Utile brings an intelligent, dark but smooth twist to Drum and Bass, the 21 year old originally from Gloucestershire and now based in Bath takes influence from the idealistic South West countryside. Max’s aspirations include artists such as Etherwood, Hybrid Minds, Danny Byrd and Netsky, he began playing guitar as a teenager before getting into the breaks of DnB. With recent gigs in Bristol and release set for 2016, the year begins on a high for the young DJ and Producer. Taking influence from his surroundings is something Utile works well into his tracks, the more liquid sounds prove the rolling countryside of the South West are an artists dream while the hustle and bustle of Bristol city takes full credit for the tougher beats in Max’s head.

Not one for talking about himself in the 3rd person, Key Lo is a self-confessed mixing perfectionist; typically I can be found joining the dots between House, Techno, Breakbeat and Acid.  

My first gigs were raves/ free parties and squats and one of my biggest achievements included getting shortlisted in the top 5 “best new Breaks DJ’s” category in the Breakspoll international Breakbeat awards back in 2011. 

Nowadays I run an event called Say WHAT?, which I think of as a bespoke little Acid House party with world class residents and a crowd that any DJ would love to play to! Hosted at a small intimate venue in Todmorden, guests so far have included Justin Robertson, Dave Angel and Phil Hartnol (Orbital), Darren Emerson and Luke Solomon.

Anyway, that’s enough waffling from me…
My advice is to let the music do the talking and have a listen…

Short biography

Alex Favell, previously known as Falex has dabbled with clublife since the late 90's.

His first set was at the legendary 'Nocturnal' in Leicester 2002. Alex has not looked back since in terms of djing for personal pleasure and the occasional set out.

Alex had many residencies, including 'Smashed', 'Hypnotic' and countless appearances around Leicester and the shire including the 'Emporium' in Coalville. Also notebly, Alex enjoyed hosting internet radio shows for three years making some great connections in the music scenes online, sharing the music he loves.

Blending the old style of mixing - Alex is a worthy advocate of djing, technically, tune selection and giving that something different when taking you on a journey through sound and imagination. Playing many styles over the years ranging trance, house and techno, drum & bass and club classics Alex has adapted with the times, first learning the trade on direct drive turntables. Shifting to CDJs in the noughties and most recently software, controllers and digital audio sequencing.

The Alex of late has been studying Music Technology BTEC at Leiceter College, with aspirations of a career in the music industry. Looking to the future SSR (School of Sound & Recording) in Manchester becons with a honary degree in 'Electronic Music & DJing'.
