After 12 years spent assiduously focused on curating the Token discography, showcasing artists he has nurtured and supported over this time, and incorporating the connoisseur?s knowledge and experience he has cultivated in his work as an equally deft and inventive DJ, label head Kr!z finally steps up to deliver his own debut EP for TOKEN90. Moving beyond his first steps in the collaborative composing and production of two tracks for the label?s 10 year celebration offering Momentum, Kr!z reveals the deep personal impact this amalgamation of influences has had on his creative capacity in a new solo expression.

Kr!z fuses his abiding fascination with his heroes; Jeff Mills, Robert Hood and Steve Rachmad, with sonic inspiration from Token contemporaries such as Antigone, Ø [Phase] and Sigha. Four hypnotic trips, exquisite loops and sinuous contours, bolstered with time-honoured percussive grooves.

The opener is Salvation; a delicate and shimmery exploration of semitone meandering. Deflection?s incessant stabs hit on the first beat of the bar and continue to stride boldly throughout. The Detroit influences come through most prominently in Mantra, with a muted, spacey theme, while The Start of Nothing?s gradual modulation of a lead is captivating both in its loyalty to tradition and its forward-thinking musical expression.

Gem - was infected with the love of electronics by his older brother who brought home Model 500 or CJ Bolland records. He recalls how at the end of the 90s, in a tiny apartment in Warsaw's Ochota, they listened to "I wanna be there" on a common tower and since then he has been in love with electronics, and Detroit has a special place in his heart.

Since the beginning of the 2000s, he has also been actively involved in promoting. He took his first steps as an organizer in such bands as Pro Audio and Horry Tone. With the line-up of Underground Perception, he held a residence in Warsaw's Tomba Tomba and M25, mentioned by all electronic music fanatics in Poland. During their activity, they invited to Warsaw such figures as three pioneers from Detroit Juan Atkins, Derrick May and Kevin Saunderson, and the creator of minimal techno Robert Hood. It can also boast of its original project called Pølygon.

Michał was also a member of the Technosoul collective, which had a huge impact on the electronic music scene and shaping the awareness of listeners not only in Warsaw, but also throughout Poland. Together with Technosoul, they have organized countless events and bookings such as James Ruskin, Regis, Surgeon, Shifted or Rrose. He also started his original project Polygon.

Despite almost eighteen years of experience, his love for music, parties and DJing has not faded, which can be heard during his performances, which invariably remain raw, sincere and energetic. Currently closely associated with the Warsaw club 999, where he regularly plays their 50-hour marathons. The question of what sets he likes best is answered simply - long.

For the next slot of my series I've chosen Vel. I'm really happy to finally share a woman on the series.

Next up:  Vel.

Morocco born, France based DJ and producer Vel delivers a set between the moods. She included deep atmospheres, dark vibes and psychedelic visions. Pads settings different vibes. 

Back in december she released her debut EP "Who by Fire " on unusal records. Which made me aware of her. I loved the style of her production and really enjoyed her release. The EP comes up with remixes by "In Aeternam Vale" and "Amour noir".

The vinyl of her actual ep is completely sold out - because it's pure quality.

I've chosen her, because her release fitted good in my vision of verschwommen. I always try to choose artists, I'm feeling familiar with, because of their sound and the vibe. 

In this case it matched very "vel".
I hope you get this one haha.
