"On “A Still Present,” Shayu immerses the listener in a hi-def landscape of icy synths and deep, multiform percussion. Processed vocal samples cut through the layers of rhythm, transporting the listener into a hypnotic, club reverie. Shayu’s strength lies in her ability to balance floating, ethereal atmospherics with profound low-end and hybridized drum programming. “A Still Present”arrives as a strong first installment in the simulate series and a testament to Shayu’s vivid, cutting-edge sound design."
