The violence of this world and the rough injustices that devours him continuously lead Couronne de Merde to focus his attention, for various and supposedly inconscious reasons, on middle east and the palestinian cause, deteriorating inexorably years after years. This album expresses the urge of getting closer to obsessions and ominous neurosis related to internal and external traumas through distorted sounds, tribal and oriental rhythms or noisy atmospheres. The project draws an equivocal soundscape of pain and bellicose sensations, alternating with personal subjects, intimacy and international politics through comatose states and mystical epiphanies.

"Many roads lead to suffering, but all of them lead to you" is dedicated to and inspired by the numerous victims of the conflicts which have swept through the middle east and the occupied Palestinian territories for decades. May they rest in peace and may their descendants live freely and happily. May the wind take away the ashes.

As usual with this type of politically-oriented release, all the money obtained will be reversed to an association linked with the thematic of the project. This time, all the funds will be transferred to Al Kamandjâti.

"Al Kamandjâti exists to teach music to Palestinian children, especially those in marginalized areas and to make music accessible to the entire Palestinian community, strengthening their appreciation of Palestinian identity, as well as of other Arab and international cultures."

Next up on VEYL is a new face on the label but no stranger to the music world. NEVER is the project of Stefano Santi, a multi-instrumentalist and electronic music producer who has been active since the early 2000’s. After several years of working as an audio engineer and touring the globe with bands, he has always had a parallel life as a producer with a club affinity. NEVER began in his own SPVN studio during the pandemic amidst the isolation of lockdown. His inspiration reborn after abandoning all boundaries and giving little care to traditional songwriting structures. 

The result is 'JXDY', the debut album which showcases the project’s diverse voice and technical prowess. Not confined to a particular genre, the release masterfully touches on everything from post-punk and shoe gaze to hints of death rock and electronica. From the opening strings of 'RXBT', we’re taken to a relentless world of shadows and bleeding emotion, which conjures nostalgia of days long gone while maintaining an ominous sense of future. From the euphoric, pulse pounding action of 'HVRXLD' to the utter heartbreak of 'CXLE', NEVER weaves in and out of agitation, rage and regret, fueling a fire that that continues to burn from beginning to end. 

Navigating to the crushing 'HXRNE' through the menacing tones of 'BLVCKBXRN'until finishing things up with the heartbreaking, cinematic feel of the title track, 'JXDY' is nine offerings of uncompromising passion and pain, leaving a lasting imprint on both the mind and body.
