This time we present Lucas Novaes with a fantastic and weird dark disco/ebm mix!
Lucas is a DJ, musician and producer from the city of São Paulo, Brazil. His style and research are based on EBM, Dark Disco, Indie Dance and Synthwave genres.

He has released tracks on Brazilian labels such as Filhes and international labels such as Kyma Komplex, D.Clock Records, among others. He currently released his latest track `Vultures` on the Shishi Records label.

As a DJ he played at pioneering alternative electronic music parties in the interior of São Paulo, where he lived until 2014. He recently recorded podcasts and mixes for labels and collectives of relevance in the underground scene.

Tea-Snuggery Show #43w_Luca Novaes (Threads Sao Paulo)-10-Jan-23

Returning to Kyma Komplex for the first time since his appearance on the "Distopía" EP, Brazilian DJ and producer Lucas Novaes from São Paulo presents the "Ganas" EP for the label's twelfth release. He blends EBM, dark disco, and synth-wave influences into warm indie dance tracks.

"Ganas" is a heavy tune with fleshy arpeggiated bass and trippy delayed vocals driven by punchy kicks. "Deslizadero" is more intense and cosmic, as if we were traveling through a dense nebula of sound with a hypnotic lead line, driving synths, and drums.

The pack also features remixes from Ludmila Fuks, who infuses the original track "Ganas" with jumbled percussion, busted kick drums, and acid gurgles to create an unstoppable atmosphere. She cooks up some brain-frying beats. Next, remixing "Deslizadero" is Abby Knives, a talent from Argentina. Her version has a brilliantly darker machine soul, heavy distorted beat, and rigid grooves run through with haunting vocal sounds that build pressure and will flip out the floor.

On remix duties, Pvlomo sends us back a superb reconstruction and a big narcotic vocal job talking about what we have "Ganas" for, a solid, electrifying, and ethereal track with a filthy bass while the synthesizers take you deep. It’s brilliant and wonderful. Closing the EP is our dear Panko, delivering another mix of "Deslizadero" that keeps you in a trance state with flailing percussive sounds, glassy synths, and cosmic stabs that make for superbly indie dance. All working you into an emotional affair that makes for a great trip on the dance floor.

La séptima referencia del sello Bruto Industries, corre a cargo de un artista Zamorano Afincado en el occidente asturiano, Yesavage Sauvage, y que define su proyecto de música electrónica como “Indubstrial Technoise con letras pretenciosas”.

Este EP titulado "Nacidos y por Nacer", está inspirado en historias de Zamora desde un punto de vista antagónico a la historia oficial y el mito fundacional castellano; En primer lugar “El motín de la Trucha”, que fué una revuelta popular urbana acaecida en el año 1158 y se considera como una de las revueltas burguesas que se sucedieron en el norte de la península ibérica durante el siglo XII, y en segundo lugar, la historia de Bellido Dolfos, un hombre que terminó con el cerco de Zamora matando a un Rey mientras hacía de vientre.

La portada es obra de La Tumba, tatuador especializado en dibujos de aspecto “románico”, y el mastering ha sido trabajo de Chou Saavedra.

Machine Cult is an electronic music platform hosted by Déandrah and Garçon Taupe. Functions on one side as a record label. On the other, an event series showcasing a part of what the local and international scene the Netherlands has to offer. Edition one is taking place in OT301 (Amsterdam) on the 25th of November.

Scouring from the surfaces of Amsterdam and Rotterdam comes out 6 original tracks composed by the following artists. 

Déandrah (AMS), Garçon Taupe (AMS), marienus (RTM), MoodSwings (AMS), The Spy (AMS) and xceptor (RTM).

In a world where we have too many choices, but not enough guts to pursue any of them, motivational speaking and councillors become the next billionaires, to inject the fearful with confidence so that they may excel at their passion and make the world a better place by self adoration, collaboration and not competition.

Intricacies of noise, self-development of taste and homages to  past times, a compilation of works from new upcomers and scene veterans. Having captured the face of a pseudo-mentalist, these artists have noted the effect of the long exposure to sound that may have affected their biomechanical characteristics.

Music Theory, out of all things, can also have some pretty nasty effects on your body. All of it can mean you can start suffering long before you become a musician.

You’ll probably start looking ill, losing weight and feeling like you might deserve it.You’ll begin to play instruments not to get high anymore, but only because that is your new standardised norm. You simply don’t know what else to do. As you lose control of your body’s health you could eventually lose control over your mind too. 

Until  one day you’ll wake up knowing that, instead of continuing investing yourself in your instruments, they slowly become controlling towards you. So, if a friend invites you to a jam session, use your brain, while you still can. And just, say, yes.
