After ten years of producing music and ten years of being terrified of doing this : Tomas aka December finally releases his first album.

The myth of the first album can be heavy on musicians, putting a lot of pressure on artists thinking they have to craft the ultimate record, condensing and transcending their style in one perfect release.
Of course it’s not the case and it shouldn’t be.

It took years for Tomas to realise this and finally get it done.
Oliver Ho aka Broken English Club, who’s always been a crucial supporter of his work, helped him compile extracts from live shows, rough studio sessions as well as careful arrangements and the record slowly took shape : « DÉBUT » was born.

This first album exorcises his fear of confronting this format by channelling a raw electronic punk energy, showcasing his unique vocal signature, his strong minimalistic beats and the melancholic, romantic atmospheres he is known for.

But it’s also a tribute to his first loves and totems , electronic punk, industrial, sci-fi, ebm. It is a homage to where Tomas comes from, his musical origins.

It is a direct, simple,
forward, honest, powerful record and it feels like the beginning of a long series now that Tomas conjured these dark spirits.
This is only the debut.

Still immersed in the recent celebration of its fourth anniversary, Soil Records continues its recording activity with the announcement of a new vinyl reference, which also stars one of the projects that participated a couple of weeks ago in this event that brought together international figures such as Terence Fixmer and Phase Fatale, who played live as Vague Macanique, or the Colombians Damaged Clock and Magnum Opus, with their powerful live and dj set, or Demian Abraxas with his heartbreaking concert under his alias Pandemian, to which we must also add the dj sets of SOJ, the owner of Soil Records, of Orco, owner of Fill-Lex Records, or the set of Industrial Complexx, who collaborated as the official media of this event. In addition to all this, we could also enjoy the live performance of the Valencian duo Spammerheads, with an overwhelming concert, with a totally punk staging, in which they allowed us to listen to the new material that they will release soon on Soil Records.

Recently announced by the label, Spammerheads will be on the next Soil Records vinyl release. This Valencian couple, formed by Ana and David, have been active since 2019, and in just 3 years their sound evolution has gone through different states and processes, always influenced by personal experiences and social context, until reaching the sound of the recent album. A rough and harsh sound that stages all their previous musical influences until reaching the current style.

Tar Blood / Cement Skin opens with The Big Machine Never Wrecks, a track commanded by a suggestive and hypnotic rhythmic sequence that is perfectly complemented by the heart-rending vocals. With Until the Damage’s Done the album rises in intensity, as the cadence is faster, the synthesised elements are more prominent and the vocals remain on the same plane in terms of dynamism. Driving Nowhere closes side A with the power materialised from vocals to the rest of the elements, with a powerful bass line and a sonic environment full of details. Noire de Blanc examines a different musical point of view to the rest of the tracks, as firstly they refuse to include vocals, their rhythmic structure is a combination of binary and syncopated rhythm, and their sound and harmonic conjugation is lysergic. Dear Hangover closes the release in a forceful and explosive way and with a voiceover that mixes subversion and ritualism.

Greek DIY label DYSTATIK (@dystatik), run by Athenian DJ/producer dry_feel (@dry_feel), is very happy to have in Dystatik's family the Producer/Live act from Warsaw, Poland, Wydma (@wydmiarz) with his new EP called "Wieszaj Siekierę".
Six installments of fear and frustration, recorded in his dungeon studio. Muddy, raw sounds reflect his visions of the forthcoming uncertainty, which is difficult to look away from.
Together with his friend, he co-creates a series of audiovisual events named "Salto Mortale" (@salto___mortale), focusing on Dark Electronic music. In his music, he explores different genres ranging from Industrial to Dungeon Synth, trying to capture the essence of raw, dark and experimental sounds.

WL//WH is pleased to premiere the second slice, "Busted", injected with dark strobing Cabaret Voltaire-tinged vibes of electro-punk industrialism, triggering a murky pounding combination of hypnotic drum kicks and slicing beats, by ceaselessly penetrated by erratic, rolling, and prominent bassline eruptions, to drive a rambunctious and restless ride, encircled by oppressive droning synth alarms and twisted vocal repetitions, into a hypnotic swirling dancing catharsis of danger, paranoia, and high-energy late-night dancing bliss.
