NGHTMRE & Dillon Francis - Another Dimension

The original song "The Quantum World" was made by John, the head behind www.symphonyofscience.com which is for those of you who haven't found it already on YouTube a project in which he strives to make science interesting and beautiful for the regular joe by Auto-Tuning big heads of the cosmos to chilling and beautiful tunes.
 
As with the last one I contacted John with a wish to remix his orignal song. I was again treated to the split track version of his song. Also like last time I ran into an inspirational drought after I had put some time into it. It took a few months, but I did pick it up again and I did finish.
 
When I set to work on it I had decided that the main thing I wanted to portray in my version was some of the energy a lot of Dubstep tunes has when the refrain comes in. His refrain was originally a calm one and to achieve my goal I had to change that, for better or worse.
 
This time around I didn't remove his melody. I merely added to it in places and rearranged it in the refrain. I made the backing melody in the refrain more aggressive and added a partially wobbling bass to it, added one of my own, simple and aggressive drones with the same partial wobble, then another two synths playing a different melody on top of that to get more energy out of it.
 
The beat this time around is highly compressed to serve as much punch as possible, the sub bass mixed in to not drown out the vocals even with a powerful subwoofer (As long as you've set your sub up correctly that is!)
 
Like the first song, this one was a blast to work on and I learned a lot. I would gladly do it again!
