Sebastian Melmoth (2006-2020) was an experimental post-punk band from London.

I have been a performance artist since 1971 performing as one of the Kipper Kids until 2003.
I have also worked as a solo performance artist collaborating and appearing with Karen Finley, Henry Rollins, Public Image, Genesis P. Orridge, Sex Pistols, Joanna Went, Eric Bogosian, Anne Bean, Bow Gamelan, Lol Coxhill, Paul Burwell, Evan Parker, Derek Bailey and Ian Hinchcliffe among others. 
I currently live in Leicester in the UK and make soundworks and movies.
My digital movies have been presented at the Royal Academy in London-https://vimeo.com/brianrouth and my sound works on BBC radio and at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Los Angeles.

The Kipper Kids have been involved in writing and starring in three projects for HBO and Cinemax and appeared in a number of movies.

I am also working on my soundscapes for my poetry and songs plus instrumental music and sound-works that incorporate vocal soundbites of world leaders, politicians, madmen, poets, rebels, murderers and others. As well as soundtracks for my own low budget movies and musical video poems.

We currently curate more than 1000 hours of Bayaka music from the rainforests of the Central African Republic recorded by Louis Sarno and a unique collection of recordings from Vanuatu by Raymond Clausen, among many other collections. Our archive also includes music from Colombia, India, Uganda and China, and we are in the process of digitising, cataloguing and making them available. Also included in this stream are recordings of ethnomusicological, anthropological and ethnographic talks, sound art, and other audio gems from the collections at the Pitt Rivers Museum.

I am an anthropologist based in Manchester UK, where I teach ethnographic documentary at the Granada Centre for Visual Anthropology, University of Manchester. Before moving to Britain I studied anthropology and ethnomusicology in Milano, Italy, where I collaborated with the LEAV – Ethnomusicology and Visual Anthropology Lab at the University of Milan since its establishment in 2005. Here I developed my passion for photography and learned to shoot and edit video, in addition to various techniques of field sound recording. I can also serve as a graphic and web designer.

Hand of Stabs, from Rochester in Kent, are a sound worker's collective whose events and recordings draw inspiration from their exploration of local, often forbidden, landmarks. They create improvised sound pieces, which can be simultaneously uplifting, difficult and intense using both traditional and home-built instruments. Many of their performances take place within the landscape – in woodland, field, or rain-lashed long barrow at Winter Solstice. They have played in a ruined school, derelict basements, Kent’s remotest church, the studio of a Turner-nominated artist and on board a light vessel. Each performance is a tense interplay between the performers resulting in a form of archaesonic dowsing, an interaction with place that is unique each time. “Feral Kentish sound sculptors” – Pete Wiggs & James Papademetrie, The Séance.
