To celebrate the release of the Telepathic Fish compilation, we have a special ‘O Is For Orange 2025’ Bleep Mix from DJ Food.

"A version of this mix first appeared in 2013 at a night to celebrate the release of Boards of Canada’s ‘Tomorrow’s Harvest’ LP release. It then morphed into an Audio Video DJ set that I toured around the UK in 2019, playing the Bluedot festival to a packed tent that year. The idea was to thread Boards of Canada’s music with original sample sources, tracks they’d remixed, fan remixes or songs that fitted their sonic blueprint.

I recently resurrected and refined the mix for a gig booking, updating it into a new version. This happened to be a week before I was due to deliver my guest mix to Bleep and it seemed to be too good an opportunity to pass up. I abandoned the mix I was going to deliver and put down the first hour of the ‘Orange’ set including a video mix to go with it. I used stem splitting apps to deconstruct some of the tracks into unique versions before video mixing it all on turntables using Serato then editing the footage in Premiere." - @strictly

Bleep Mix #308 - DJ Food

Guido Richter has been active in the Mönchengladbach music scene for more than 25 years with many projects. Since 2012, he has been experimenting with different styles in his solo project KRATZWERK and has been focusing on the internet genre #vaporwave since 2017. This is where 80s/90s sounds meet TV jingles and #ambient sounds, with a multitude of musical influences constantly leading to the project evolving and remaining open to new experiments.
In April 2025, he made a guest appearance at the LSClub in Bad Schandau with an exclusive vinyl-only set, the complete recording of which can now be heard here as episode no. 191 of our #lsc podcast.

Toni Tress über POYU: „Der DUDE hat 3000 Platten im Bauch – und er spielt sie dann auch."

Kennengelernt haben wir Alex im Frühsommer 2024 im MONO bei unserer TWIN TOWN & Friends - Only Vinyl Session. Stadtbesuch in Saarbrigge. Der Laden war leer und die Menschen hielten sich draußen vor der Tür auf. Toni nutzte die Gelegenheit um ein neues Floorkonzept anzutesten und naürlich auch Platten zu spinnen: Detroit-Deep, 70er-Disco, Berliner Schule, Offenbach, bisje Hamburger HipHop, Breaks aus UK und Acid Jazz aus Radebeul – alles in einem Flow. POYU zog die Augenbrauen hoch: „Moment, der wechselt nicht, der verwebt.“ Let's talk about it!

Seit knapp 20 Jahren ist POYU deutschlandweit unterwegs – about:blank, Farbfernseher, Gebäude 27, SchonSchön, buerro. Neben Gerd Janson, Ame, Mayaan Nidam, Jacques Renault, Marie Lung, Oskar Offermann & Co. Immer Vinyl. Immer Platten. Immer auf der Suche nach dem organischen Flow – jenem Moment, wo Übergang und Publikum eins werden.

Sein Sound? Minimalismus trifft Disco, Detroit, küsst Mainzer Schule. Musikwissenschaftlich fundiert, aber nie kopflastig. Er spielt nicht irgendwas – er antwortet mit Bedacht in jedem Übergang.

Nach dem MONO-Gig kam der Anruf: „Komm im Dezember. Gastspiel. SCHICK. Nur DU. Schmeiß du den Sound im Laden allein, nur mit Vinyl nur mit dem Stil von #thesoundoftwintown.“ Gesagt, getan. War auch geil. Thanks <3 dafür! Seitdem bauen wir die Mainz – Saarbrücken Achse auf und aus. Befreundet und unterwegs ist Alex öfter mit VALERIA aus dem SILO- UND HUNTER THOMPSON-KOSMOS und mit JURY VULLO dem alten SZENEDIPLOMAT (mit den Scherenhänden). Ab jetzt ist ER eingezogen in die STADT DER TRÄUME! ENDLICH eine TERRINE von dem MASTER. Von TWIN TOWN zu SCHICK, von SAAR zu RHEIN. Ein Konzept – ONLY VINYL, nur Gefühl. NEW LOVE. Von uns aus kann es sich immer so weiter DREHEN. POYU ist ein Vinyl-Dolmetscher. Und wenn er seine Selektion spielt, lächelt er nur. Er weiß: Vielseitigkeit ist Respekt. Bleibt dran. Die Achse wird läääänger.
