I recorded this mix sitting on the carpet of my partner and I's new home, pulling out some old records and enjoying the comfort of our new living room which now also houses my custom green monitors. Sundays to me have a naturally relaxed and positive vibe and it's the same day that I throw my event 'Park Dub'. The music at Park Dub is generally a mixture of electronic dub tracks and more rootsy dub reggae but I usually tell the DJ's playing that 'anything with enough reverb and delay is fine', haha. I tried to capture the spirit of Park Dub in the mix.

Cleveland is the project by Andrea Mancini, born in Luxembourg from an Italian family now based in Brussels. The project was started around 2012 and has ever since been releasing several releases on internationally renowned labels with the likes of John Talabot's Hivern Discs, Lovefinger's LA based ESP Institute and most recently Colino's Amsterdam based Kalahari Oyster Cult.

We're none too fond of terms like 'selector' here at the figurative 12th Isle HQ. We think it was a shrewd marketing ploy concocted by natural wine bar owners - and possibly the freemasons - who repackaged the spergy single-mindedness of record nerds into something that sounded much more socially agile and cool in order to distract punters from the exorbitant price of nibbles. Thankfully, the time of white label soundtracked £40 sashimi seems to be behind us, and DJing can go back to being obsessives playing odd music made by even odder folk without much in the way of pretence. Someone who encapsulates that kind of energy has very kindly put together a nearly 4 hour long sprawl and has stated that under no circumstances should this mix be enjoyed alongside thinly sliced bits of raw beef and wine with bits in it or there will be hell to pay. Another mix from the recording of May PACIFIC MODE. 003 marks the swift return of YELLOWUHURU (@yellowuhuru), the founder of the Tokyo-based party collective under the concept of House & Experimental “FLATTOP”.  This set started at 5am for closing of the night. He is finding his updated DJ style as “Future Deephouse” defines trippy collages but also freshness into the morning that makes both body and soul dance.
