This little melody is a quiet tribute to the forgotten craftspeople of the past. It speaks to the slow, steady tempo and the sad, wistful mood. 

My ancestor Samuel Björklund (Bircklenius) was a weaver in Turku 1752-1802.

The Artisan's Requiem

Thank you very much for always paying attention to my track and taking the time to do so.  
I am always grateful.
Syndrome. Wanting to be pampered. Wanting to be loved. Layers of these desires pile up, manifesting in various forms and causing obstacles.
People have strong desires for something! 
But you mustn't be controlled by that one thing 24 hours a day! 
Because the real you is stronger than that, knows yourself best! You're not pretending, you're living honestly, yet somewhere, in a corner of your heart, a part of you that doesn't fully trust itself is scheming to take control. It's not an illness. 
Let's reclaim who you truly are.

Oh, my dear old jeans,
a little worn, perhaps,
with a few patches and a little frayed,
but always ready to accompany me
on my daily adventures.

Every evening, when I have to
separate myself from them
to go to bed,
I feel a sense of indefinite
loneliness.

Shall we run again today?
What new adventure can we have?
Definitely walk
And go and go

As if they had deprived me of
a precious possession,
then,
the moment I put them back on,
I feel that life will smile on me again today.

So, with a heart full of joy,
I run through the streets of the village,
under the snow,
letting the wind
slowly cover me in white.

Shall we run again today?
What new adventure can we have?
And then play and play and play.

But, at a certain point, I fall:
I immediately get up and
I feel a great pain in my knee.
Then,
I look in despair at what has
happened to me and,
with joy, I notice that even though the
pain
from the blow hurts a lot,
my dear old jeans
are still intact, without
any tears,
proving the victory of another
battle.

Ah, dear old jeans,
without you, what would I do?

And this time, the race against destiny is over, and always thanks to you...

Old school sampling in a nutshell. Using an Emu E4X dinosaur, best filters I've ever heard, but what do I know. The Emu was horrible to work with, that I do know. Bounced the lot to Ableton

So there's all kinds of stuff on this page, but after months of schizophrenic debates about who was playing with who and who took the lead while doing it, finally, the decision was made: all my alter egos got together and decided to form a band. From 2020 on new tracks are created under the moniker Gruppo Infernal. Only pure MMTJ tracks will still be named as such. 

Gruppo Infernal still relies on my work as Me, my Thumb and Jack, an ongoing quest for a liberating approach to sound creation where the human body acts as an oscillator amplifying the natural 50hz hum. Direct live recording, improvisations and delay loops only using analog filters and effects. No editing, no overdubs. Gruppo Infernal adds digital treatment to this original sound material. 

UnterPitch was an alter ego using samples & synths.
Bleached Coffins was a one-off project using guitars.

I love listening to & creating ambient, dark ambient, avant-garde & experimental electronica (and the occasional beatscape). I have no professional aspirations  - I just really like creating music / manipulating sounds. It's my way of relaxing after a hard day at the office. All my tracks are produced using monitoring headphones (Audix A140) so I recommend that you listen to my music through headphones. My DAW of choice is FL Studio. I also use Reason every now & then. 


To the artists I follow; I do my best to try to listen to as many of your tracks as possible each night (I listen to each track all the way through - you went through the effort to create a track so you deserve to have it heard in full). If I miss a recent upload of yours, please forgive me...
