The story of Circuit Bloom originates from Aethelburg, a sprawling, vertically layered metropolis where centuries of architectural history are intertwined with a constantly evolving, hyper-connected digital network known as the "Grid." The city's inhabitants navigate this complex environment, living in districts stratified by their access to and integration with the Grid – from the high-frequency 'Canopy' levels where data streams flow like rivers, to the dense, analog 'Foundations' below, where older systems hum beneath the surface. Life is a constant negotiation between the structured, predictable pathways of the digital and the chaotic, organic reality of the physical. The culture values innovation but is wary of losing touch with the tangible past.
    Legend says that before 3C arrived, the Signal Bloom Ensemble was formed in the 'Interference Zones' – overlooked spaces where stray signals from the Grid collided with the resonant frequencies of the city's ancient Foundation layers. Two individuals, one steeped in the rhythmic echoes of the urban underground and the other a former data architect fascinated by harmonic patterns, met in one such zone, finding their disparate sonic impulses converged into a new, powerful signal that cut through the city's perpetual hum.

I made this piece in response to this week's Naviar Haiku:

One traveller,
Wakes another traveller,
At the sight of the sea.

The Haiku Foundation is always a rich source of inspiration. I immediately fell in love with this poem by Choshi, included in R.H. Blyth “Japanese Satirical Verses“. For those of you who are not familiar with the difference between haiku and senryu: the former tends to be about nature, while the latter refers to some aspect of human nature or emotions. Their structure is similar.

I couldn’t find any information on Choshi online, so here’s what R.H. Blyth said about our haiku of the week:

“We have here a clear example of the difference between haiku and senryu. The sight of the sea in the early morning makes someone wake up a fellow traveller. But what remains in our minds is not the sea glittering in the morning sunshine, but the shaking and awakening of the traveller by someone who hardly knows him from Adam. We feel the kinship of the men through that one touch of nature.”

I love listening to & creating ambient, dark ambient, avant-garde & experimental electronica (and the occasional beatscape). I have no professional aspirations  - I just really like creating music / manipulating sounds. It's my way of relaxing after a hard day at the office. All my tracks are produced using monitoring headphones (Audix A140) so I recommend that you listen to my music through headphones. My DAW of choice is FL Studio. I also use Reason every now & then.
