Sonic Kitchen - Please Change My Battery (Open Collab) 🔋

The audio here is generated with NotePerformers3 software from a Sibelius score.

These three musical images were inspired by the New England autumn countryside. To create a context for hearing the music, I fashioned a haiku with particular suggestive imagery. The title for each of the three movements is a line from the haiku:

movement 1. (largo)  . . . .  Fall leaves, dawn unfolds 
movement 2. (andante) . .  Wings resound as flocks take flight 
movement 3. (allegro) . . .  Leaves like confetti

This work features the piano as a solo instrument. However, unlike a traditional concerto, the piano and the chamber string orchestra with the harp function like complimentary palettes of sound color. Together they render a sonic painting that unfolds in the patterned musical gestures, shifting rhythms, and vague implied melodic fragments that evolve into fuller themes.

Electronic music visionary Pye Corner Audio, a master of blending nostalgia with forward-thinking production, has carved out a unique niche in the electronic music landscape. Lapsus Records is proud to present Where Things Are Hollow: No Tomorrow, a comprehensive box set revisiting and expanding his acclaimed Where Things Are Hollow series. This release includes the first two volumes—with Volume 2 featuring an unreleased track—and two additional chapters that further enrich the series’ narrative. Once again, Pye Corner Audio delivers innovative soundscapes, drawing inspiration from ambient techno, foggy electronica, and experimental slow disco.

The third installment unveils a constellation of entirely new tracks, weaving the ambient, synthwave, and retro-futuristic textures that define Jenkins' work. Meanwhile, Where Things Are Hollow 4 amplifies this universe, incorporating reinterpretations by some of today’s most visionary artists: Alessandro Cortini, Kaitlyn Aurelia Smith, Lord Of The Isles, and Surgeons Girl, alongside the popular 2020 John Talabot remix of "Resist".

As with previous entries, the visual identity of Where Things Are Hollow: No Tomorrow is a striking collaboration between Basora Studio and renowned illustrator Alex Trochut, offering a visual counterpart to the series' otherworldly audio.

With all tracks remastered for the occasion, Where Things Are Hollow: No Tomorrow is a testament to Jenkins' enduring influence and creative evolution, cementing Pye Corner Audio as a key figure in modern electronic music.

I love listening to & creating ambient, dark ambient, avant-garde & experimental electronica (and the occasional beatscape). I have no professional aspirations  - I just really like creating music / manipulating sounds. It's my way of relaxing after a hard day at the office. All my tracks are produced using monitoring headphones (Audix A140) so I recommend that you listen to my music through headphones. My DAW of choice is FL Studio. I also use Reason every now & then. 


To the artists I follow; I do my best to try to listen to as many of your tracks as possible each night (I listen to each track all the way through - you went through the effort to create a track so you deserve to have it heard in full). If I miss a recent upload of yours, please forgive me...
