Delirante - Hypnothermia

Amsterdam may be considered the main musical hub in the Netherlands but Rotterdam definitely gives it a run for its money. The port city in the south of the country is the base of independent radio station Operator as well as being home to label and radio shop Pinkman Records who have been responsible for a few of our favourite releases in recent years.

Gamma Intel has been closely affiliated with both institutions, as a resident on Operator and as a label mate for Pinkman with his release Motives & Methods earlier this year. We first caught wind of him via his release for London-based electro imprint Brokntoys, his debut EP in fact, which introduced us to his machine-driven sound; a heady blend of electro, EBM and raw electronics. 

We invited him to give us a taste of what Gamma Intel is all about. Buckle up, this one's a barnstormer...

Raketka was born and raised in Minsk, Belarus, where she started to collect and play records in 2007. Back then it was mainly Detroit, Acid and Dub Techno and has later developed into more 'out of genre' styles from Noise to Dark Wave and IDM to Hard Core.

From 2009 onwards Raketka has been travelling round the world with a bag full of vinyls. During her musical career she has held residency in club Cirrus in GOA, India. From there she has moved to Berlin and later to Santiago de Chile. In 2016 she returned back to Minsk, where she has been curating large music events. In 2017 she signed up with Mixworks label based in Detroit. In 2019 Raketka was recognized as the Best Vinyl Dj in Belarus by independent voting.

ORAMICS 134: Raketka

∄ is a cultural institution in Kyiv, established in 2019 on the territory of a former brewery, located at 41 Kyrylivska Street. It serves as a multifunctional space for club events like ∄ Community Events, Curated By, Enareї, for experimental music concerts like Miasma of the Real and other cultural events.

∄ also manages the in-house music label Standard Deviation. Established in September 2020, Standard Deviation is a multidisciplinary label for music, art and publishing, cultivating creative exchange between an aspiring Ukrainian scene and a global community.

K41 is the community-born name of the institution embraced and widely used by the public.
