Проте жінки брали безпосередню роль у формуванні цієї культури, а в добу розквіту, окремі представниці своєю майстерністю могли поставити на місце будь-якого хвалькуватого МС з вулиці. Цей епізод Phat In The Flat присвячений несправедливо забутим героїням хіп-хоп сцени 80-90х.

Hip-hop, as with most known genres, we are used to perceive as a musical environment dominated by men. However, women took a direct role in the formation of this culture, and in its heyday, individual representatives could replace any boastful MC from the street with their skill. This episode of Phat In The Flat will be dedicated to the unfairly forgotten heroines of the hip-hop scene of the 80s and 90s.

PHAT IN THE FLAT #03 05/08/2022

A new set from the ‘Before The Curfew’ series is up on SoundCloud. This set was played by tofudj on 18th of February at Ground Floor. 

tofudj is an artist from Poltava who has long made a name for himself as a fixture of Kyiv’s music scene. One of the pep gaffe label cofounders and Standard Deviation frequent collaborator, he is known for his uncompromising experimental sound, which he effortlessly combines with classic dance rhythms.

The series is updated on a weekly basis with recordings of sets that have been played in our space since the beginning of the russian full-scale invasion of Ukraine. Tune in and don't forget to support  the Ukrainian army, volunteer organizations and funds, including the ∄ Community Fund which continues to support volunteer initiatives from representatives of our community.

Mires is the project of Dmytro Borysov, an electronic musician, graduate of Mirage Camp (2021), and curator of the shows Placid Tones and Dubs on Gasoline Radio.

This live set is crafted from field recordings collected over 2023–2024. It reflects on global and personal transformations, the fragility of stability, and intimate thoughts and experiences. Mires also explores the relationship between humanity, nature, and technology in the modern world.

∄ is a cultural institution in Kyiv, established in 2019 on the territory of a former brewery, located at 41 Kyrylivska Street. It serves as a multifunctional space for club events like ∄ Community Events, Curated By, Enareї, for experimental music concerts like Miasma of the Real and other cultural events.

∄ also manages the in-house music label Standard Deviation. Established in September 2020, Standard Deviation is a multidisciplinary label for music, art and publishing, cultivating creative exchange between an aspiring Ukrainian scene and a global community.

K41 is the community-born name of the institution embraced and widely used by the public.
