Jonathan Krohn (Stave / Talker) and Benjamin Mjolsness present their first recorded output since the 2020 appearance on the ‘Out of Practice Vol. 1’ compilation from Standards & Practices Records. 

‘Drummer’ expands on the work Krohn/Mjolsness began in 2009 with their now defunct group Male. With minimal overdubbing and studio production ‘Drummer’ reprises the improvised spirit of their first performances and recordings.

Julia Häller (@juicy_chewlie) is a producer & graphic designer from Bern (Switzerland). She's taking double duty in the 8-track compilation: offering a singular track called 'Redae' and creating the release artwork.

A few words about EFJA02:
𝙇𝙖𝙘𝙧𝙞𝙢𝙖 is the second outing on lunar convoy's efja label. Carte blanche has been given to the artists, allowing them to convey their own vision of experimental music. Throughout its 45min, Lacrima features a wide range of feelings and emotions, from the intricate 𝘛𝘢𝘬𝘭𝘢𝘮𝘢𝘬𝘢𝘯 𝘛𝘳𝘦𝘬 to the tear-jerking 𝘐𝘯𝘯𝘦𝘳 𝘏𝘪𝘭𝘭. A collection of dark & light ambient excursions, inherently personal and playful, meant to question past, present and future.

"The ritual is the symbolic element that links the tracks in these densely experimental patterns. 

In a dialogue with nature the intensity of rhythm is captured. Field recordings, modulation of synthesizers, sampling and other different ideas have been introduced in accordance with the project's principles. Geometries and textures trigger a journey to remote and tribal suggestions.

The rite relate past and present, thinking about ancient rituals, prayers, chants and how these play out in different forms in the contemporary life as routine, underground ride or choirs of a match. The result of work aimed at the spontaneity thing.

Our present can become primitive in an instant, we can carve out conscious spaces and change our state enough that sound can warp the time’s perception. 

The essential is here and now by being transported by a creative flow that generates new-found awareness."
