"Stand up and be counted! Speak the truth from your heart! Spread the word about love and marriage equality!

I've been banging on about my new single, "Be Free With Your Love", for quite some time. The inspiration for it came from the news I read about the struggle for same sex marriage all over the world from Australia, where I started writing the song, to the USA, France and beyond. The fight continues today with protests in Paris and the argument being debated in Washington DC. Even in far flung places like Uganda, the freedom to be your true self is under siege.

So, for the time being, as a sign of solidarity, I decided to put up the full stream of "Be Free With Your Love" on my Soundcloud page ahead of its official release. I wrestled with myself about the idea of doing this because I think the fight should not be commercialized.

However, music can be transforming as it was in the spirit of the late 60s, early 70s and mid 80s, when some songs were written with the express purpose of sending a message to the world about certain causes and events. Whether they are protest songs, songs of hope, something thought provoking, or simply ones that make people happy and have a little boogie on the dancefloor, they take on more personal meanings for many while the battle wages on.

Several close friends have suggested I make the connection known between "Be Free With Your Love" and the inspiration behind it. The title was even co-opted from a news article about gay people from two different countries being threatened with deportation because the federal government doesn't recognize their relationship.

Being a proud, openly gay man for nearly three decades, as well as someone who would like the naturally given right to marry the person of my choice, I gave in and decided to share this song today. I've rambled on enough!

"Be Free With Your Love" is a collaboration by super Swedish DJs, Drop Out Orchestra, and New York City based songwriter/producer/DJ, Vinny Vero. The single will be available from all online, digital retailers on April 8."

The prolific German duo are back with a new 7' releases, following up their last EP "Sofea" which included a remix by Dj Spinna.

The A Side features the banger "You got It Baby", a revamped & boosted rendition of the original version, previously released only on CD in 2007, and available for the 1st time on vinyl. This song really established the "Modern Funk" sound, and solidified First Touch as pioneers of the movement.
