This is a recording of a live set from Naturalist. Sounds primarily from his travels, so they are pretty wild sources from relatively undisturbed habitats. The first and last track was recorded with @slonomusic and artists from @AediRecords.

From Naturalisten: "Imagine yourself being in a deep jungle without electricity surrounded by wild animals, shamans and then you go for your first-night dive where you see a sleeping turtle. Hopefully, you will find peace in it."

Basel-based Agonis (@agonis-amenthia) runs @amenthia-recordings alongside label partner @garcon. Fusing depth, rhythm, and echoes of Detroit, his DJ and live sets alike are captivating, at once both subtle and forward.

Following his transcendent live performance at Patterns of Perception earlier in the year, Agonis has taken his vision to audiences around the world, performing at key festivals and parties in Australia, Taiwan, Japan, South Korea and Switzerland where he is a resident of the famed Elysia (@elysiabsl) club. 
On the production front, he has been similarly prolific, helping to inaugurate @smokemachinetaipei ’s record label with the contribution of two tracks to its debut EP, plus overseeing the release of Amenthia's sixth EP - a debut from fellow Basler, and one-third of @varuna4053, Tafeit.

In Patterns of Perception 37, Agonis delivers a discerning selection designed to be equally enjoyed at home or on the dancefloor, constructed around the concept of bending time.

Vice City is a producer, DJ and party promoter based in Taipei,Taiwan. She's been playing differnt styles at a number of important parties and festivals in Taiwan, including Earthfest Revolution, The Miracle, Organik Festival, Spectrum Formosus and Eden Hill Festival.

Rooted in Techno, but influenced by various styles such as Dub, Dn'B, Breaks and Psychedelic Trance , Vice City's experiments explore the edge of sounds, evolving according to time and place, reaching out to connect with the environment.

Rythmic, smooth, tense, tranquil. Vice City's music shows strong diversities while preserving a cinematic atmosphere and healing vibrations.

Joining Oslated, the South Korean music label in 2016, Vice City had her original mixes and remixes released including her remix tracks "Fantasma" in Bluescript's EP, "Treated By Herbs And Fire" in Saphileaum's "Uninhibited Kingdom", and her original mix "Soul Seeker" in the complilation "Seoul 首尔 - Part 2. Mokmyeok 木覓".

Human Lessons #025 - Vice City

It is undeniable that we are living in uncertain times. For those of us failing to fit the patriarchal, neoliberalist mould we have lost hope in the future. We can see capitalism is not working but we cannot yet envisage an alternative. We discover that the stability we were instructed to obtain whether it be financial, political or ecological, is fleeting, if at all. The resulting anxiety is an instrument of neoliberalism that prevents many of us from being able to raise consciousness of the structural injustices that alienate us.

In a world where security is no longer feasible, the only constant we can rely on is change. Barad teaches us that the world is a dynamic process of intra-activity and materialisation, an ongoing ebb and flow of agency. The Buddhist Law of Impermanence proves that nothing in this world is eternal.

Regardless of ones point of reference we can understand that every aspect of life, physical and mental is in flux and perhaps this transience is the only thing we can depend on.

Each month we invite an artist to ruminate on these ideas and create an hour of relief from these anxieties. A temporary suspension of reality, where the listener can speculate on alternate modes of existence that reject hetero- patriarchal systems of oppression.

This month we have invited @vedis_klara (aka @klara_vedis) to respond to this concept.

A couple of months ago, I had the chance to discover @vickisiolos 's Bright Patterns shows on NYC-based The Lot Radio and her recent mix for excellent Mysteries of the Deep. Instantly, I found a lot in common in our tastes and I'm super happy she is joining me on that new session for Rinse France. Vicki is based in Brooklyn where this mix has been recorded - on Day 26 of quarantine! After a long time working in music, Vicki finally stepped up and started to play for crews like The Bunker NYC a couple of years ago showcasing her very own and unique tastes. She is now a resident DJ at The Lot Radio and she is preparing a new mix on cassette to come very soon.
This time, Vicki is on for the first hour with a very percussive, immersive & deep mix. Me, the second with a mix of news coming from ASC, Shoal, Fred P, Wata Igarashi & Voiski and some fav from Dots, Pris, Synthek rmx Natural/electronic.system etc.
