Harlem born Bronx raised Nigerian & South Korean DJ, Christian Tokyo brings his nostalgia for house heavy with this hour of music. On the brink of releasing his first original productions, Tokyo has had his eyes set on fully marking ground in his hometown as a DJ who evokes the spirit and origins of dance music.

MUSH is a North Carolina-born DJ now living in Brooklyn who has found a home in the social, professional, creative circles of electronic music. Leaning into the softer side of club, his sound moves between ambient + electro, bridging the arrhythmic and polyrhythmic to invoke conscious euphoria.

"This mix was recorded right after Dripping, which was a breath of fresh air (no pun intended) in terms of music that moved both my brain and body. I wanted to explore my gravitation toward dance music with introspection -- psychedelia, murky breaks, and a final indulgence in trance / prog house. Expect rich textures layered with low frequencies and broken by interludes."

recorded live at EXIT in Glasgow :) i wrote a little bit about my approach to this set below:

at the start of a new year i like to reflect and set intentions for the coming year through some ritualistic form. 2023 for me, like many, was a time of going inward and exploring aspects of my life needing release, and rediscovering the parts which i have the deepest connections to. reflecting on my belief that music can be a healing and connective force, i approached this mix with the intention of sharing this with others. many of the tracks included discovered me at the right time like they were sent from some galactic tannoy in the sky.

i am incredibly grateful to be a conduit for this music which gives me so much and to have the opportunity to share this with likeminded people :’)
