Christine Moad (they/them) shatters preconceived notions and societal expectations with their music.

Moad, a bassist and singer-songwriter recording under the moniker Miss Christine, blends indie rock with blues and soul influences delivered with defiant punk attitude to open listeners’ minds to possibilities beyond the gender binary.

Their exploration of their own genderqueer identity inspires their lyrics, resulting in songs that are both intensely personal while simultaneously challenging the harmful stereotypes and expectations associated with gender and sexuality. Even the name Miss Christine turns the gender binary on its head. The “Miss” has nothing to do with womanhood and everything to do with absence and longing. In this case, it’s the longing for truth and freedom from misguided external perceptions. 

Maybe you’ll “miss” the old Christine you thought you knew, but the authentic Christine isn’t letting that stop them from speaking their truth.  

Christine Moad has traveled the world from Tennessee to Monaco as a professionally touring bassist. They attended the Berklee College of Music before gaining experience as a session musician in Nashville. Christine defied expectations yet again by leaving Nashville behind for a farm near Iowa City where they write and record their original songs. Miss Christine released their debut solo album, Conversion, in 2019. The follow up, “Bittersweet,” is now available on CD with a digital release set for 2023.

Based in Berlin, DJ, curator, queer-activist, Ipek Ipekcioglu produces an extraordinary warm, dynamic and organic interpretation of electronic music melted with the melodramatic sound of Anatolia/Mesopotamia, Turkey, Orient & the Middle East. 
Ipek Ipekcioglu received German Record Critics' Award for her Beyond Istanbul Albums @ Trikont and was named as a musical and political "visionary" by the Süddeutsche Zeitung. and cited as a representative for “ideologically blinker-free living” by Rolling Stone Magazine. 
The socialy- critical minded producer is an activist and member of female: pressure network and has a strong social-critical agenda related to women, immigrant, queer and gender topics which she transports into her productions. Ipek has been pushing boundaries within the ethnic & electronic music scene and communities for over two decades. This vibrant mix and her work have earned her a place as “one of Berlin’s most important cultural contributors” [Zitty Magazine]. She proudly carries the title of "MC of cross-cultural understanding" (Daniel Bax - TAZ).
Ipek has performed at Glastonburry, Fusion, Sziget, Garbicz, At. tension, Ms Dockville, Womex and many more international electronic and world music festivals from New York City, Beirut, Erbil, Yerevan, Marseille, Los Angeles, Salvador de Bahia, Cairo, Sana’a, Istanbul, Seoul, Novosibirsk to the desert Sahara of Mali, developing an exclusive brand name with her unique & hybrid Sound mix. She has toured throughout, China, Siberia, Japan and the US.

Starlight Therapy began as part of my graphic design MFA thesis at Iowa State University.

Each song was created with a facet of my mental health & neurodivergence in mind, and the creative process helps me to channel my energy. For each performance, I invite other musicians from our community to join me on stage and improvise with me as I play violin. Together we add upon the musical bases to create something entirely new. Improvisation allows us to exist without hierarchy and allows us to create magical moments. My goal through these performances is to diminish hierarchies that emerge between audience and performer. I hope to strengthen our community through the power of dynamic audiovisual performances.
