Neonderthal is a new wave electronic rock band, based in
Los Angeles. The quartet just released a full-length,
self-titled album that was produced by the late Ikey
Owens as one of his las t projects. The album features
their latest hit song “The Ride,” accompanied by a music
video that was picked up and premiered by Vice’s music
blog Noisey.
Directed by Jeremy Eichenbaum, the music video’ s lead
actor Paul Raci dances through a cluttered office, using
sign language to translate the lyrics to camera, creating a
one of a kind music video for deaf people. But no matter
who experiences the video, “The Ride” is about the
universal feeling of going home.
Lead singer, Steven Matthews, pulls from life experiences
to write his music. He leads listeners into the neon night,
and like moths in the dark, they can’t get enough.
