I think this unedited version makes Davis looks less insane. I think he needs to understand if someone were to overanalyze characters like he is, his objections to Boba and Fennec, can be said about Mayfeld.

The difference is mandos armor is pure beskar whereas most mandos have armor that is only like partially beskar because the mandalorians have over mined it which is why it so rare now

I definitely feel like Alex & Davis are talking past each other a lot. What Davis is trying to describe is verisimillitude, whereas Alex *seems* to be describing tone (I'm not 100% on Alex's POV, so I'm using his own choice of word). I agree that there are inconsistencies in how things appear; I also was confused as to why Mando didn't just pick his jetpack up and fly back to Grogu when the Empire arrived. However, it doesn't ruin the show for me. I just mentioned it to my girlfriend, and she said "Oh yeah, that's kinda dumb" and we carried on watching. If you adjust your viewing lens to be like RLM pointing out all the dumb things a show or movie does, you'll quickly end up with a massive pile of things that cloud the overall show. It's the difference between watching a show to see where the plot & characters end up, and looking for things to add to the IMDB page under the "Goofs" heading.

So it's been awhile since I listened to the edited version and the Mando so I may be a little off base with future arguments Davis has, but I'm mostly agreeing with the people that say that Fennec at least wasn't a character in season 1 and stuff

Davis lacks suspension of disbelief which is a double-edged sword. The negative aspect is that it prevents him from enjoying a lot of media or maybe just media that he is passionate about. The positive side is that it means he is an extremely deep and logical thinker. Which is good for analysis, critiquing, and reacting. Also, there is absolutely nothing logical or consistent about Batman in any form of media. He is all plot armor. Full stop.

This podcast is literally called the New *Canon* Book Club. Davis is right that a Canon should be internally consistent.
