State Azure - Errant Signals

Producer of electronic, ambient and experimental music from the south coast of England.

Bio:

Immersed in the synth-pop and electronica of the Eighties growing up in southern England, State Azure (b. 1972) found early inspiration in Jean-Michel Jarre, Tangerine Dream, and Vangelis. Deconstructing their tracks ignited his passion, leading him to develop a foundational understanding of electronic music theory, composition and production entirely by ear and experimentation.

He honed his skills as a keyboardist and producer within live bands before venturing into solo ambient/experimental territory. This self-taught journey fostered a deeply improvisational and emotional approach, free from the confines of formal training.

State Azure's sonic world is further shaped by influences beyond music, drawing heavily from science fiction, cosmology, physics, and technology.

Seizing the opportunity presented by the burgeoning online music scene, he launched the State Azure project to connect directly with listeners, debuting with the album 'Outlines' in December 2011.

Comenzó su andadura a finales del 1999. Entonces bajo el aka de
darkoina XLR, el estilo que mas predominaba en sus sesiones era el
techno, del que todavía sigue comprando música. Productores como
Mills, Regis, Surgeon, Ruskin, 65 d Mavericks, Wunsch.. sin olvidar
sonidos mas Detroit propios de artistas de la talla de Mills, Steve
Rachmad, Aril Brikha, Robert Hood, Mike Huckaby entre otros.
Posteriormente el dub techno fue tomando peso en su maleta de discos..
Basic Channel, Echospace, Fluxion, Quantec .. ritmos más pausados
pero que sin duda considera imprescindibles en el universo de la
electronica.
Como buen amante de las BSO., también es un enamorado del sonido
Ambient (necesario para su paz interior)
Desde siempre también le ha llamado la atención la electrónica algo
"mas compleja" donde Autechre, AFX, BoC, Mika Vainio, Monolake, Alva
Noto (por citar algunos gigantes), han pasado también a formar parte
de su colección.
Es en 2015, con el psedonimo de Mood XLR cuando opta por dar un giro y
centrarse en el ELECTRO, sin olvidar los antes citados.
En la actualidad, junto con Zenobit3 desarrollan Electroscope. Eventos
puntuales en Madrid (Siroco) claramente enfocados al electro, contando
con artistas de siempre (Electroscope 01 con Kan3da) pero también con
la nueva generación que viene pisando muy fuerte!
