UK producer State Azure is back on Silk Music with a brand new EP, "Slipstream", featuring four distinct and refreshing downtempo pieces.

The title track takes off with an array of incredibly lush pad layers and a stunning breakbeat. Numerous sound effects spice up the soundscape, and a breath-taking and energetic theme lead takes over the mix later. In "Moth", a number of hypnotizing arpeggios are quickly introduced, as well as remarkable percussion elements. Throughout the song, the atmosphere is continuously enhanced with countless effects and subtle, yet brilliant melodic layers. "Process" begins with tremendously soothing pads and luxurious arps in the background. A frisky beat lightens up the soundscape, in which many well-structured synth stabs provide additional energy. Last, but not least, "Something Unseen" definitely lives up to its name: a brilliant combination of energetic synth pads, well-crafted percussion elements, and stunning textures makes this song a perfect ending to State Azure's debut EP on Silk Music.

Hi All,

I have been messing around with a new mastering limiter that seems to do some fantastic things with stereo m/s relations and an even boost of the dynamics. 

I took an older song of mine that features the alto recorder and remastered it. The original was mastered by a mastering house here in Cincinnati and is on my (only) CD “Harvest Song”. I think I kind of like this better than that version and therefore am putting it up for your consumption. Please take the free DL and enjoy - I hope you like it and if you are at all curious about the original, you can hit the link off to the right on my home page and hear a snippet of the original version.

5. Marine lifeforms
We were not even hoping to find any life on the surface of Europa where rigid temperatures confine even the most volatile of gasses into solid crystals. Insane radiation emanating from Jupiter was not helping either. However, under a sheath of ice hundreds of kilometers deep we found a liquid ocean teeming with life, none like we could have ever imagined in the wildest of dreams.

Masters of the Universe - 05 - Marine Lifeforms

My second outing to the supersonic realm of Tribalsphere Outdoors. The day after an amazing sunset and moon polarity beneath the shadows of the Black Mountains in Wales,  this mix was played out in the chill-out tent. As with my last Tribalsphere mix, expect some psychedelic madness, some deep ethno world-chill, some blissed out female vocals, and some mugglewump tuneage (ending with the epic Deep Playa!)........

Producer of electronic, ambient and experimental music from the south coast of England.

Bio:

Immersed in the synth-pop and electronica of the Eighties growing up in southern England, State Azure (b. 1972) found early inspiration in Jean-Michel Jarre, Tangerine Dream, and Vangelis. Deconstructing their tracks ignited his passion, leading him to develop a foundational understanding of electronic music theory, composition and production entirely by ear and experimentation.

He honed his skills as a keyboardist and producer within live bands before venturing into solo ambient/experimental territory. This self-taught journey fostered a deeply improvisational and emotional approach, free from the confines of formal training.

State Azure's sonic world is further shaped by influences beyond music, drawing heavily from science fiction, cosmology, physics, and technology.

Seizing the opportunity presented by the burgeoning online music scene, he launched the State Azure project to connect directly with listeners, debuting with the album 'Outlines' in December 2011.
