I found out about Mosaik years ago, his music is one of the reasons why I moved to the Ambient / IDM scene at the time after listening to his awesome track "Leandi" (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_N-f4sSU75I).

Minimal basslines, plucked sequences, reverbered arpeggios and glitched drums: that’s what "Need a Name" soul was made of, and still is. 

Completely based on electronic sound design and affected by all the details which marked its very own fingerprint, the journey with Need a Name starts again as another side project. 

This first release is a 4-track EP which is deeply inspired by the very first Need a Name albums, such as "Sizzling Plucks" and "What You Were, What I’ve Become”, to bring back what really made it special.

'Monomyth' is a cinematic concept album, based on Joseph Campbell's monomyth story structure, outlining the 'Hero's Journey' which features in many great stories and films. 

The music spans from subtle ambient piano, through to epic hybrid action. It's all freely released under Creative Commons Attribution, meaning you can use ANY of these tracks for free in any project, as long as you credit me.

Bio:

Immersed in the synth-pop and electronica of the Eighties growing up in southern England, State Azure (b. 1972) found early inspiration in Jean-Michel Jarre, Tangerine Dream, and Vangelis. Deconstructing their tracks ignited his passion, leading him to develop a foundational understanding of electronic music theory, composition and production entirely by ear and experimentation.

He honed his skills as a keyboardist and producer within live bands before venturing into solo ambient/experimental territory. This self-taught journey fostered a deeply improvisational and emotional approach, free from the confines of formal training.

State Azure's sonic world is further shaped by influences beyond music, drawing heavily from science fiction, cosmology, physics, and technology.

Seizing the opportunity presented by the burgeoning online music scene, he launched the State Azure project to connect directly with listeners, debuting with the album 'Outlines' in December 2011.
