Atlantic South were formed in late 2013 with a vision in mind to not be restricted to any sub-genre of Metal. The band consists of five very different dudes from different backgrounds all with one thing in common... The love of heavy riffs, crushing vocals, melodic chorus's and insane breakdowns. The band started writing material right away and realised that the different styles combined created something very unique and interesting by not sticking to any sort of guidlines or rules... They write what they like and the end product is what they envisioned.

Atlantic South was born!

These three very different individuals have been brought together in this time and place for a reason: To show everyone the chaos that is the universe, earth and life then find a way to conquer it. With a heavy sound driven by merciless guitars, in-your-face drumming and melodically schizophrenic vocals, Conquering Chaos builds their philosophy.
There is something to say about fate if these three people found each other in the craziest time in history, on the craziest planet, in the craziest place, the Bermuda Triangle of Africa, the Vaal. It is an amazing time in the human story and there is no place more diverse and interesting than current day South-Africa. The cultural explosion that is happening here is going to pave the way for generations to come all around this living orb we call home. We are honoured to take part in that.

Featuring a mixture of musical influences and backgrounds ranging from blues to rock to pop rock and alternative, State Society shows no limitations with their writing ability and style. Formed in September 2011 with a three-man line up and then adding an additional member to become a four-piece, State Society has broken the stigma of today's repetitive commercial/pop rock genre. Remaining true to the set objective of their project, the band has created ‘easy listening positive music’ for their fans.
 
With music influenced by bands such as Dave Mathews Band, Foo Fighters, The Temper Trap, U2, The Narrow, Coldplay and more, State Society mixes various flavours of the rock genre and a ‘feel good’ element seamlessly together. The vocals are a mixture of choral multiples including a call to anthem in their lyrics that have a
definite social conscience. The humble band are in it for the love of music and as cliché as that sounds, it truly resonates in the way they interact with anybody come into contact with. In the middle of recording their debut album this band succeeded in playing a countless number of shows in their club tour across South Africa between 2012 and 2013.
 
State Society is preparing to start a new chapter. Their debut album, ‘This Life’, is out now and available at all shows and digitally. They released it independently as a testament to all their hard work over the last two years cementing their position in local
music landscape. Not stopping there, the band are currently in the process of writing new material while still delivering their fan-favourite tracks to audiences in South Africa.
‘Music videos, press coverage, festivals and fan engagement, including lining up the writing process for our second album are in our sights’ says Cliff Barnard, frontman of the band. So be ready and gear up for State Society as they prepare to take South Africa by the horns. 2014 was great for the band. They have performed at Oppikoppi as well as high-profile shows alongside the likes of Gangs Of Ballet, Wrestlerish, Justin Serraro, Man As Machine, Woodstock Mafia and many more at SA’s top venues.
 
The single ‘Beautiful Day’ has been playlisted on radio stations across the country including East Coast Radio, MFM, Mix FM, Groot FM, UCT Radio, Kovsie FM and many more. The music video is gaining incredible traction on broadcasters such as MNET, SABC 3 and MK as well as creating great conversation online. The band has also performed live on air and interviewed on e.tv Sunrise, Mix FM, Power FM, UCT Radio and more.
 
‘Dance’, the latest single has received an amazing response from radio following the success of ‘Beautiful Day’. The upbeat track has been playlisted on stations such as Tuks FM, Jacaranda FM, Kovsie FM and MFM to name a few.
 
The band are currently in the process of pre-production on their upcoming new album. The first single is ‘We Are’ which has become a favourite at the live shows and will also feature a surprise guest artist. More to be announced soon!

The latest album, "Hive Mind" was released independently on 3/20/2012 and was successfully funded by fan contributions.

Yvette Barnard has been performing around the country for years, spreading her vocal abilities nationally, inspiring some along the way and always giving a top class performance while constantly having the ability to bring the house down. Her most recent claim to fame has been her role as "Pink" in various touring Barnyard Theatre shows.

Jared Gunston, Endorsed by Hughes & Kettner Amplification, founding member of Chromium, Silent Sneakers and Dalektashio, Gunston has always been involved in various Projects be it as a Touring Artist or as a Producer in Studio. Highest quality is always first priority. Recent claim to fame would be opening for Metallica at FNB Stadium.

Justin Rae, I'm certain at some point in your life you've witnessed an Air Guitar Competition and this will usually be the guy to win it. He's guitar techniques & percussive playing style brings great power to the Inceptio sound. He may be a chilled dude at the pub... but don't let that fool you when a stage is involved...

Brian T Fraser, He has kept the seat warm for many years at the Barnyard Theatres around the country, reading news papers while doing drum solos. He's asked us if it is OK for him to be as loud as possible? We took one look at the depth of his snare drum and willingly agreed
