Premiere: Sputnik One ‘Grafters’

James Hearne AKA Ye Ye has worked behind the scenes in audio for a number of years across an impressive array of roles: Having provided logistics for 10+ date international tours for some of the biggest names in Drum and Bass, supervised sound for a feature length film and an immersive theatre installation, produced a weekly breakfast show on commercial FM radio, stage managed carnivals, festivals and superclubs, alongside producing site specific audio works for historical landmarks in Bristol.

Nowadays, James is now firmly turning his attention to his own musical output. 2020 and 2021 saw the releases of ‘Initialism for Visual’ (Premiered on INSERT, Moskalus, Simply Deep) and ‘Nt Uzzn’ (released on A.N.E). Both EP’s did the rounds on radio globally,
featuring on shows and mixes on stations in Canada, France, Kenya, Russia, Belgium, Estonia, Italy, USA, Serbia and beyond, alongside ‘Metropol’ from ‘Initialism for Visual’ being placed via sync licence agreement for a social media campaign by ASOS sister brand -
COLLUSION.

2023 looks to carry on in fine style, with ‘Whole Whisk in Mouth (Future)’ being the leading single in a run of x12 released as free download via URL/IRL newsletter each month, alongside x1 signed EP, x1 signed single (V/A), x2 official remixes and likely more to come.

‘Whole Whisk in Mouth (Future)’ is an acid tinged, 909 driven club workout that pays loving homage to the original Detroit sound of the ‘Belleville Three’, whilst keeping a foot firmly in the modern era via vox stabs a la Kitty Katt (W.A.T.C.H M.E P.O.P I.T L.I.K.E A
P.R.O). Rounding off ‘Whole Whisk’ is an injection of atmospherics programmed in around the halfway mark, that has the firm intention of melting brains in the dance.

In 2000 Ed propelled from underground garage producer to near enough a household name with the massive remix of Gorillas Clint Eastwood . It was a chance encounter with Damon Albarn,which changed Ed's life .Damon suggested that Ed take a listen to the gorillas first album which had just been completed in Jamaica. . Asked if he could do a remix of one of the tracks .Ed made his choice and within 3 days were performing to a large crowd at the Notting Hill Carnival. That performance transformed in to an anthem , staying in the top ten for eleven weeks.Following this success Ed went on to produce and remix some of the biggest artists of the time .

In 2001 he was signed to Sony to produce his own album Eds Guest list. The album was a collaboration of different artists from different musical genres . Having established himself as a professional producer and remixer ed does remixes for the likes of Destinys Child Bootalicious Misteeq and Mj Cole to name a few ,He is extremely well respected in the industry as being hard working and a real musician. Ed has been described by NME as UK Garage Legend , global dance innovator ,genuine genius Ed proper Case.
In 2008 Kt Tunstall released as her first single Hold On which ed co Wrote.Website and tv music has also played a big part in Ed's busy schedule.
