Until I met you, the only kind of love I knew was hurt and sadness and anger and tears, with a little splash of betrayal in there every now and then. 
But since You’ve came into my life? You’ve shown me a whole new meaning to the word. Love is kind, love is caring. Love is nurturing, love is understanding. Love is raw, and honest. Love is giving and making compromises even if it’s not all the way in your interest. Love is knowing the sacrifices but still choosing you every time, because for you, my love, there’s nothing In this world that I wouldn’t do. Love is being selfless. Love is gentle and does not try and plan out how to hurt you. Love is protective of you and will fight off any dragons that may try to find their way to you. Love knows you, I mean the REAL you, they know the map of your heart and frequent it often. Love guides you, but never controls you; because love knows that you are your own person with your own ideas and feelings. Love opens your eyes and helps you realize that you’ve been the main character in your own movie this whole time, and you don’t need anyone trying to direct your life. Love also shows you that who ever made you a background character before should have their license and their privileges suspended indefinitely. Love teaches you that you should never be pouring from an empty cup. Love makes you realize for the first time in your life your feelings are valid and valued, and mannnn I can’t tell how good of a feeling that is. Love will always listen, love never cares if you go on and on about nonsense. Love is just happy to be able to hear you speak openly and freely without a worry. You will never be too much for your love. Love sees no color, love only sees the color of your heart and baby, that shit is beautiful. Love is genuine, when love asks about your day it’s because they truly care about how you’re feeling and what’s going on inside your brain. Love always extends their hand for you anytime you get knocked off your feet, simply because watching you stand tall is such a beautiful thing. Love is unconditional, love wakes up next to you, loving you everyday for simply just existing. Love will ride with you to the highest mountain top and to the depths of the sea. Love will move mountains just to see you happy and succeed. Love is not taking and taking, holding everything over your head. Love is not treating you as though you’re not a human being yourself. Love sees every side of you and still chooses to stay and stand by you, hand in hand. Love is committed to you, all of you, in every season and every hardship.  Love meets you with reassurance when things get rough. Love let’s you know that pain is only temporary and that there is so much more beauty to come. Love offers you their hand to show you that you will never go through anything alone. Love believes in you when you can’t seem to see the beauty from within. And you believe in love because for the first time in your life you can truly be your genuine self and love will only ever meet you with a smile and helping hand. See love can have very dark sides, I am so glad you’ve shown me love that brings in so much life and happiness from within. Love is a breath of fresh air, and I need you in my lungs like oxygen. Love keeps you going through all the bad because love gets you excited about your future and building a kingdom together. You will always be the purest and most sincere definition of love. I’m not going to say love will take away your darkness, but love will definitely pull back the curtains and let some light in. But the most important thing, is that love will never wither  away. Love only grows deeper through each and everyday, as long as you always take the time to tend to your soil,  love will always flow freely between you and your love, and baby, I promise that I will always come back to water our garden. It will hands down he the easiest task I have ever accomplished.

what is love ?

Part of me misses life in the basement of my mind 
Allowing anorexia and bulimia to control my life 
Just standing by while I watch these layers tare away from my skeleton 
Stomach so flat it’s almost cascading in 
The gap between my thighs growing so wide that when the food falls into my lap it drops straight to the ground. 
 Having collar bones so cizziled you could cut a slice of pie 
When I could pick up a size 5 and it would fit perfectly fine 
Part of me misses being so small I could fit into any space, no matter how narrow or tight it would be 
Or when I would always remain cold no matter the temperature spike. 
Back when I could go weeks upon weeks without consuming a single bite
Or when I found the loop hole that allowed you to eat what you pleased without having it stay in your stomach permanently
But then I remember how distorted my brain began to be. 
How when I looked in the mirror it was simply just a ghost staring back at me 
How I picked apart every part of my body. 
I was a slave to this disease
It made me believe that I would only be worthy if I collapsed without warning 
Only worthy if you could count all my ribs upon my bare skin
Only worthy if I could starve and not give in 
Only worthy if I were thin 
But I would never wish to go back there again -
Never wish to poke at the volcano in my stomach that’s just waiting for it’s chance to erupt again
Never wish to be a walking corpse that’s just rotting away from every limb 
I will never allow those chains to wrap themselves around my mind, holding me hostage. 
Sometimes the voices get so loud it’s so hard to not give back in, but never again will I step back into the abyss 
Because no matter how much I miss being thin, I know being healthy and happy is a much greater way to live 
And why would I want to put my self in a position where I would drop dead, when our future together has given a reason to live. 
Thank you for giving me a reason to fight back against it
With you by my side I will no longer be fenced in
