Big lies beget suspicious minds, though in the episode, that's a good thing! As Socrates would say "Like sands through the hourglass, so are the days of our lives." and that's true twice here. My favorite color is blue, a blue moon, the blue water of a bay, I like it all. Sitting at a café at night isn't a bad way to spend the evening, though once headlights flash upon you and pass, it can make you a bit nervous, especially if you're a bit wasted and seeing colour on everyone's tongue. For today though, let's play at the waterline, tossing anxiety and grief away. Slip off those boots, dip your toes, and fixate on an affirmation to dispel any derealization you might be experiencing. Be the "Comeback Kid" after that long range hustle, a pioneer to and for yourself, and flip that hourglass for another go at tomorrow.

Hi we are Layer Cake – the band you didn’t see coming like that dollop of tomato sauce in Paul Kelly’s gravy recipe.

Our debut self titled EP released in 2019 was compared (by oh so many) to pop rock favourites such as The Strokes, Vampire Weekend and The Beatles – however you can compare us to whoever you like, as long as they are incredibly more successful than us and we can live vicariously through an over fluffed complimentary comparison.

Latin was my first love, and music is my second. I've utterly fallen for those of the soulful, creative, inspiring and inciting kind. The one composed with heart and soul, the one performed with passion and aplomb. Searching for a way to express my love for and enthusiasm about music, I've found twitter is a decent and effective place to do so, yet given my wordy nature 140 characters one day simply didn't suffice to promote the music I enjoy anymore. This is how my music blog - carpe carmina - came into being (a heartfelt thank-you goes out to my favourite UK band High/Low for the encouragement to start writing about music, to my all time favourite band for so many years by now, Midnight Hour, for making me realize my affection for music and my wish to help those artists in whose talent I believe in, and to all those people who read my blog, who recommend and submit music for it).
