Techno Sets

Number sixty presented by someone who I've watched in awe over the last year or so, as she continues to develop and blossom. Anyone who knows Clem ( @tangerine_tangerine ) would quickly think to her humility and talent, which make her Tangerine project so special. 

Clem has become known for cutting edge live electronic sets (& producing individual tracks) which span from ambient electronica to industrial techno, somehow in a deep, classy and seamless fashion. Not only this, but her DJ sets never fail to reveal a unique and exciting curation of dance floor songs and beyond. 

Beyond her own music, Clem is currently in the works of planning absorb (alongside Kavil @absorb-label ), an extended party at the incredible new miscellania club (18th Feb - save the date!)

A sunset set at Waking Life, Portugal, in June 2023. I DJed after Vlada and before Anthony Naples, in front of a beautiful lake with the sun setting behind me and an incredibly wholesome, engaged, positive, locked-in crowd in front of me. Kept this one pretty measured in pace, and went for expansive, moody, euphoric, maybe also a little psychedelic in vibe, sorta imagining gazing into the deep starry abyss.

One of techno’s true underground heroes, Function steps in with a mix that captures the essence of his club sound: deep, dark, hypnotic and intensely layered. Cerebral yet physical, this set distills over 30 years of experience into a rolling trip that’s as uncompromising as it is immersive.

Recorded in Berlin with a Xone 96, with Function’s signature sound design woven throughout, the mix bridges heavyweight classics and future-shaping material. Kicking off with Nastia Reigel’s massive new remix of his own Disaffected, it showcases three tracks from her upcoming debut album Identity (out September 26 on Infrastructure).

The selection runs wide: from Regis, Rødhâd, LSD, Nørbak, Nastia Reigel, Ignez, Rene Wise, Silent Servant, Alarico and UFO95 to unreleased gems by Filippo Scorcucchi - alongside Function’s own productions, edits and textures. The result is a hypnotic, high-pressure session built for the club’s inner core, designed for maximum immersion and intensity.

About Tresor Berlin
At midnight, on March 13th 1991, a basement door opened at Leipziger Strasse 126, Berlin. Through this door, many passed, on their way to defining new terrains in electronic music. There they found a dance floor in the vaults of a closed-down department store, with a unique sound bound to dense fog, building night after night a history that was also a vision of the future.

This history has seen in Jeff Mills’ first sets on three turntables, Underground Resistance's first live appearances in Europe, grandiose Tresor Park parties, to various chapters of the Loveparade with Sven Väth in the 90s and since then countless generation-spanning parties. These moments represent the highlights of infinite personal clubbing experiences. It is the manifestation of the Berlin spirit, emerging from its considerable strife. This history is not without its complications - from temporary closure by the authorities and several raids in the early years to closure and demolition of the old location in 2005. What followed was years of wandering in exile and, finally, resurrection in the new home in Kraftwerk Berlin.

These stories, conversations and shared experiences within our walls forge a resilience that drives towards a shared ideal, the Tresor sound: community, resistance, and the world to come. This was observed in the newly re-unified German youth, who danced and celebrated together from the club’s inception, and into the present day through ongoing community work in Detroit.

To those that have danced before, and to those that will dance in the future: the light at the end of the long Tresor tunnel is a signal. A flicker amidst the fog. This is our future. This is our place.

Responsible for a handful exquisite platters on the likes of Dial Records, LARJ, Figures’ sub-division LF RMX and his own imprint, Intergalactic Research Institute for Sound, Georgia-born, Berlin-based sound explorer Irakli lands his new transmission for RYC: a mix giving full vent to his ever innovative and shape-shifting approach to floor narratives. Always going the unsuspected route with no compass to guide us back onto the normative boulevard, Irakli takes us on a bumpy ride across jagged proto-technoid topographies, fractal-like foldings and mind-expanding new horizons of musical possibilities. The result is - as per the man’s high-flying standards, an ode to techno’s core values of innovation and fearlessness, developing the kind of pioneering mindset we miss so much these days. Electrifying.

DJ and producer from Como, Italy, Luca Accardi explores the many shades of techno through a sound that evolves between hypnotic tension, groove, and atmosphere. Driven by a deep curiosity for texture and movement, his productions move fluidly between dub influences, rhythmic intensity, and a growing fascination for minimalism, where every element has space and purpose.
His recent release on Planet Rhythm highlights his groovy dub side, combining depth and pulse for immersive dancefloors. Constantly refining his identity, he seeks to craft timeless works that connect emotion, space, and rhythm.

“This mix explores the balance between hypnotic minimalism and dynamic energy, enriched by deep dub textures and fluid transitions. I used Traktor with four channels running, Ableton for external drum patterns and effects, and an Xone:92 mixer with Xone K2 and Akai APC Mini as controllers.”
