Reka Zalan is a Berlin based DJ, who is deeply embedded in the DNA of Berlin's landscape - as a Tresor resident since 2023, a Hard Wax staffer and a member of the Coppi collective. She has laid down her powerful and psychedelic grooves at legendary institutions like Berghain, Vault Sessions, Fusion Festival, Ankali and more.  

The mix dives into the depths of atmospheric, cavernous techno before propelling into the expanse of hyperspace as it builds with speed and intensity. A consistent thread of dense psychedelia is seamlessly woven throughout the entire session - an odyssey for those deep cerebral synapses. The mix moves forward, outward, and inward, balancing tension and flow - a voyage of duality: it’s both grounding and mind-bending, accelerating yet perfectly controlled. Chiming in for Bassiani’s anniversary party on October 10th comes an exceptional talent from the Asturian coast and Architectural’s third appearance in the Podcast series. Since 2004, Juan Rico’s been holding the line as Reeko, a stand-in for blistering industrial rhythms, founder of Mental Disorder and founding partner of Spanish techno bastion PoleGroup. Come 2010, a new incarnation emerged under the stage name Architectural, a faceless and assumedly authorless variant of his that played on rich textures, cinematic tones and a heavier focus on the architecture of sound itself. In the studio he manipulates and records sounds in real time, allowing for a greater degree of spontaneity than working with standalone parts would otherwise permit. No longer incognito, Architectural offers a brand of ambient techno charged through with Jazz and references from the world of film that pulsates and slithers, crackles and shifts. From his earliest releases on his eponymous Architectural imprint, through Semantica, Non Series and others, his music has established itself as a touchstone for avant-garde techno centred on body and dancefloor, and his future’s sure to keep delivering more of his monolith beats. Reka Zalan is a Berlin-based DJ, born to a Hungarian father and a German-Dutch mother. Her sets unfold with a keen sense of focus, shifting between hypnotic depth and percussive drive. Navigating through different shades of techno with an open heart, she weaves together trippy, sometimes psy-tinged tension, rattling grooves, mental maelstroms, and uplifting momentum into one coherent arc. 

Off the dancefloor, Reka has been part of the Hard Wax record store team since 2019, where she continues to deepen and broaden her musical horizons. She is also a member of coppi, a cultural space and collective in Lichtenberg that hosts weekly community-led studio sessions. Before fully immersing herself in club culture, she worked at the Berlin Music Commission, supporting the city’s music industry network.

Whether behind the decks or behind the scenes, Reka is driven by curiosity and a deep sense of connection with like-minded people — always aiming to build bridges through a shared love of sound and collective experience.
