2019, a year Selective Response first released music to the world in the form of singles ‘Scorched Earth Policy’ and ‘Weekend At Nik's’ - they provided a clear indication that the California Native was not messing around, with his powerful, industrial, raw productions. 

Crisis of Man has quietly gathered pace these past few years reaching a critical mass as the go to for everyone from Truncate to Perc via I Hate Models. Heading the imprint, Selective Response has taken pains to set trends rather than follow them, building a loyal fan base around his uncompromising industrial sound.

Early support from Cleric, Dax J and Perc, encouraged the launch of his own label Crisis Of Man, a platform which since has mainly been the home for his own creations, it now kicks off 2022 with a stellar 10 track VA, to mark their 10th release.  

‘Core Values Vol 1’ is the first in no doubt a series of stacked compilations to come on the label, featuring talented undiscovered names including EAS, PLEASURES, Emptyshell, Rave Syndicate and Innestemme, to those with some recognition including US female artists Annika Wolfe and Lindsey Herbert, Scotland’s Frazi.er and Germany’s Zeltak.

My next guest on Yax Invites is Ossifer, a DJ-producer hailing from Montreal, Canada. 

Specializing in polyrhythmic, overtone-heavy techno, much of his inspiration is drawn from the liminal states elicited by ritualistic practices of all sorts. He enjoys discovering obscure electronic music from across the ages and is building a reputation for his hypnotic, atmospheric productions. In addition to his personal musical projects, he is co-manager of North Of Nowhere Records and is a member of the Exposé Noir and Homegrown Harvest event collectives.

Electric Rescue returns on his imprint with a four track EP recorded during this winter closure of clubs in France.

He went in the studio recording straight away, using his instinct and not overthinking the result. These are his ‘First Intentions’. ‘Postures Digitales’ and ‘Postures Sociales’ are two parts of the same story, people pretending on social media and the emptiness behind it. ‘Leaving Cities’ is a fresh walk in the countryside away from the digital pressure.

Inspiriert von der rohen und gleichzeitig funky-fröhlichen Natur der elektronischen Tanzmusik in Berlin, steht das Berliner Duo „LMNR“ für genre-bending Sets, in denen, von Techno über Trance bis hin zu Breakbeat und Ghettotech, alle möglichen tanzbaren Grooves ihren Platz haben. Reichlich Variation mit einer Konstante: 145 BPM aufwärts. 
Die seit kurzem auch mit Eigenproduktionen gewürzten Sets gibt „LMNR“ am liebsten im Rahmen der hauseigenen Partyreihe „Diskosport“ zum Besten, welche regelmäßig in den Wäldern und Wiesen in und um Berlin stattfindet.

Stay Up Forever or SUF is an independent record label run by the Liberator DJs. It was started in 1992 by Chris, Aaron and Julian who were collectively known as the Liberators, a DJ trio named after the space ship in the old BBC TV Sci Fi series, Blakes Seven.

The Label has consistently been at the front of London’s underground music scene, and is widely regarded as being responsible for creating the genre known as Acid Techno.  Heavily influenced by the UK punk scene, the label has been releasing a steady stream of hedonistic techno rave music, with its trademark sound being based on the distorted Roland TB303 bass synth and the Roland TR909 drum machine.

Stay Up Forever has been name checked by just about every famous DJ in the world, it is notorious for its music being uncompromising and for being staunchly underground.

Over the years the industry has changed and SUF has had to flex a bit to go with the times, the SUF collective was born and under this umbrella is a group of record labels which share a similar vision of staying true to their roots and releasing underground acid techno music for the squat parties and ravers around the world.

They release on 12” vinyl, and the whole operation is still run by Chris Liberator who deals personally with all the labels and artists.
