This Awesome picture of the Solar Corona, taken with Sunspot AR 1967 facing the Earth,(which btw has been unleashing  CME after CME since Feb 2nd 2014). And, to me, it looks a lot like a "Solar Eagle"!  :-D

On Eagles Wings

This heartfelt sketch for Piano and Strings is born out of a recent Improvisation that seeks to suggest the power and passion of Love's eternal nature. Impossible to do perhaps, yet if it is freely expressed... Love seems to travel like Light and bind giver and receiver together in a warm, rich, and almost unfathomable Oneness. 

So, here's to what is called 'Forever Love', and may everyone find it!  💖

At the time, I was seeking to describe the indescribable; a life experience that elicited feelings more intense than happiness, like the inexplicable emotions felt at the birth of one's first child, or one of those deeply transformational experiences that seem to expand out forever. I suppose it's best known as Joy.

Impossible to describe perhaps...
But here it is, with warm thanks to Julien @musicar for adding his heartfelt touch with Strings.

In between Summer and Fall, Nature seems puzzled for a brief period as the transition completes itself; much like us as we merge with our futures. 
But somehow everything works out.

In any case, here is a composition on Electric Piano born in a recent improvised recording session. It merges and flows in waves and patterns that never quite resolve themselves even as they stay harmonious. Puzzling in-deed! :)

Quantum Streams

"Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters."  
  And from that place let the mysteries and nuances of The Deep 
  be revealed 
  to all who seek... but do not covet.

  Yes, Dare to Ask...
  but only for Wisdom and Understanding,
  for 'Knowlege about' is empty of actual experience and meaning.

Indeed... the Timeless Mysteries of Sound, Light, and Being 
call out our primaeval inner natures 
and beckon us to draw near...
to discern, and to intuit... 
and perhaps, 
to begin to comprehend the Cosmic Simplicity
which pervades the Whole. 

Let us not Be overly concerned 'to Possess', 
but rather...  
to be a Channel
a point through which Creation's intelligence
can flow into this small yet beautiful world.

For is it not enough, brothers and sisters,
that this wondrous Universe not only gifts us Life, 
but also offers us the opportunity to Co-Create? 

I say, Yes!

Mysteres et Nuance

Like breathing, improvisation is an unconscious flow from within.
Of course, one must understand the basics and have spent a good many hours building a tonal memory, but once one gets the knack of it, improvising, no matter what the instrument, is a Gift that keeps on giving. :)

As you tap into these inner autonomic cycles, you reach a Zone that's beyond anything you could consciously think of or plan. Like one's heartbeat, it's in tune with Life itself. It just happens. 

In any case...I love it when the Music is 'Floating'.......'Levitating' so to speak... not really going anywhere in particular, but tonally and rhythmically totally Present.  And... as we get better and better at finding the door to this experience, more and more wondrous music begins to manifest itself through us. it's almost as if we aren't even present.

Then the hard work of Arranging and Mastering begins!  :-D 

But be that as it may... for the Best experience of this one, I suggest you put it on Repeat at a Medium volume and let it go for 10-15 minutes.  it's sure to help you 'take a breath', become lost in peace, and relax deeply. :D

Let yourSelf go...
I promise I will be good to you, and to your Ears. 😊

Let your Consciousness Resonate with this Tone Poem,
for if it suggests anything, it's that 'There is Peace at Center, and Center is Everywhere'.  It's just a matter of becoming attuned with it. 

What you hear first in this composition represents the Cosmic Background Radiation even now remaining from what we understand as the moment of Creation, Big Bang.  It is present throughout the piece.
(This Vibrational Fingerprint of what occurred at the beginning and whose  'radiant energy' continue to resonate throughout this entire Universe and is still present today, was theorized years ago and then revealed by  measurements by NASA's C.O.B.E. satellite.  i.e  C.O.(smic) B.(ackground) E.(xplorer)>     

Yes... i know, it all sounds kinda 'New Agey' 😉 and... perhaps these liner notes could be so construed. But in this case, this music was born out of months of contemplation of a Huge life-manifested Zen Koan i came up against!  And what an opportunity to Compose! 😊

The Koan was " What is the Sound of Manifestation?  What is the SOUND of the Process of The Stuff of Life - Arising ? As it dances, and sparks New manifestations of substance throughout the universe - and then dissolves back into 'the vacuum' out of which it arose.

 What could 'that' sound like? 
Hmmmm. Impossible, yet tantalising.

No matter .. many have found that the peace they felt in resonating with whatever IT ultimately IS, is More than Enough to keep them totally interested. ;)

If you find this composition relaxing and easy to flow with ...  
then i am more than happy.

... most important part of a jawharpe is a tongue of tempered steel, as also the reeds of a harmonica are. ... so for me this instruments are related in a way, ...... but not often found together. To combine this vibrations might be unusual :) hope I suceeded in making them flow in a cool way!

It comes from a delicious Italian Dessert made of Lady Fingers, Custard, Hazelnuts, and Chocolate! This tune is about 'What We've Said' ... to ourselves and others whilst to-ing and fro-ing in this ol' world. I hope you pick up on the underlying self-deprecating humor in the music. ;)

This also includes what we've expressed non-verbally in the moment, to ourselves and 'others', whether via thought, feeling, or through those invisible cords of connection shared with friends and loved ones around the globe.

Autumn Winds

May 'the Heart of Hope' beat forever within us.  For to become overweeningly cynical is to loose faith in Life itSelf, cutting ourselves off from its renewing Pulse and Creativity!  Even in the darkest times, there is always a Silver Lining;  always someone, somewhere, who in response to their inner Integrity has the courage, creativity, and strength of character to let their 'better angel' win through that the Light might shine through us, and illuminate our worlds.  In-deed, why not let that someone be us? ;)                                          

Yeah... let's have some Faith in the wellspring of human decency, even if we imagine that it has been irretrievably lost. I feel that As 'Creatives' having particularly sensitive and keen Eyes and Ears, it behooves us to take the High Road.

Furthermore, living out of A Heart of Hope and compassion lets our Humanity shine through the gathering clouds of despair and opens the way to a brighter future for all.  And as to 'the specifics' of how this will manifest, again, it is up to each of us!

One Life One Love One Destiny

Je sais que c'est n'est pas grand chose, mais voici un petit a cappella pour tenter de conjurer la noirceur de ce lundi matin, 19 mars à Toulouse.

Somewhere over the rainbow

Here's my latest Piano Improvisation.  
(from 2018)

It came welling up out of my heart and soul almost a month ago to celebrate my love and appreciation for one of the dearest souls i've ever had the pleasure to know.  And now it has taken on an even greater meaning with her sudden passing on April 29th.

She was my Muse,  my Bestie, and my Wife of 33 years.  <3  

Her name is Paige, and she was one of a kind. As I've said many times, 'a different kind of angel'.  :)  

She passed away in my arms Sunday evening after our family members had all said their goodbyes in the Intensive Care Unit.

Yes... I had to 'pull the plug', and I know she wanted it so (as we'd discussed such contingencies years before).  But it was tough. However... her Spirit would have been denied expression if we hadn't agreed on such a course.

And now, she is finally free of the continual burden of pain which she carried so gracefully and uncomplainingly over the past few years. 
She is at Peace.  As am I. <3

 Love gifts us a whole range of emotions and experiences as we walk its road and share its selfless spirit. But chief amongst them is true Joy.  I feel that Love's ultimate destination is always Joy, no matter the heartaches and misunderstandings brought on by our inexperience with it. And to be honest, i really can't imagine anything more meaningful and nurturing in this ol world. For ourselves...and in the sharing of it with others.  For as i see it, problems and heartaches arise only when we either don't or won't, Love enough. 

So... i entreat us all to let our Love flow on through us ... 
to let it be expressed Creatively in whatever way is appropriate in the moment,
like the notes and phrases of a Song that means everything  - freely given and also delightedly received,

May we now its endlessness....
ever New, and Nurturing.   <3

A Letter From The Past

Piece for acoustic guitar trio, Part 1 - Introduction & Allegro assai

花(Ka) is a flower. 鳥(Cho) is a bird. 風(Fu) is wind. 月(Getsu) is the moon.
Literal translation "Flower, Bird, Wind, Moon"

This Japanese proverb is showing the sense and spirit of Japanese people. They feel beauty most in these four elements and have made many paintings and poems to this theme. That is why these four elements are considered as the beauty of nature. "Experience the beauty of nature and in doing so learn about one's self."

I wrote this like a tone poem in several sections, trying to evoke different sensations of movement and beauty, inspired partly on melancholic Japanese style infused music, by the likes of Ryuichi Sakamoto, also David Sylvian's music "When Poets Dreamed of Angels" Secrets of the Beehive, and the composition by the Assad brothers called "Natsu No Niwa Suite”, to name a few. Also this is a salute to the greatest guitar trio to date: Paco, Al and John. Long live Passion, Grace and Fire!

Piece for acoustic guitar trio, Part II - Andante

花(Ka) is a flower. 鳥(Cho) is a bird. 風(Fu) is wind. 月(Getsu) is the moon.
Literal translation "Flower, Bird, Wind, Moon".

Part II picks up the themes from the first movement, but brings them into different scenes and backgrounds. The pace is slower, melancholic and lingering. Like the moonlit Night, with drops of rain, short flutterings of birds and the wind moving the heavy branches of trees …
