Staying true to his name, Stealth has craftily taken centre stage. Every record he's released oozing with sophistication has repeatedly stolen the spotlight. And this next one is no exception.
The production connoisseur yet again goes for the aural jugular, using ProgRAM as a launch pad. Stealth demonstrates the imprint's forward thinking movements and command of a genre which often goes unmatched. The relationship has been harmonious; alongside ProgRAM, he's already made a crater sized impact within the dnb community... And it's not difficult to see why.

'Homage' leads in a tightly fashioned intensity. Dark, brooding and with plucky percussion, it's a tribute to the sound Dillinja mastered. An instantly recognisable vocal sample is filtered through the record's menace, meandering perfectly between the bassline's thumps which eventually drop us into LFO-lead chaos. Piece by piece the main melody begins to build, throbbing until it completely over-takes the record's more humanistic elements. Audibly stocky, yet with a dimension that rings true of Stealth's icy production, it's a relentless roller with a nasty bite.

Next up, 'Smash It' still holds onto the merciless setting of its predecessor, but also offers something completely different. With a bristling rhythm that steps its way into a haunting crescendo, Stealth uses this break to highlight the track's imposing detail; it trickles, floods and then the dam breaks due to the build up's audible weight. Progressing deeper into the mix, the track is underpinned by quaking sub bass. An insistent kick and snap of drums merges against steeply elevating note loops, laying out Stealth's finely combed conundrum of complex yet hard hitting composition. Both 'Homage' and 'Smash It' receive the innovative-stamp of approval, playing on more contemporary elements but also delving deep into the 90s, promising both tracks remain timeless.

Stealth is pushing his influence into every corner, with his late night vibes commanding even the hardest of crowds. So, yet again, it's time to get with the ProgRAM, and succumb to one of the scene's biggest contenders.

With each release, Stealth has slowly made his presence known within your musical subconscious. Taking hold of every synapse with drops of LFO induced devastation he’s now merged with the other figureheads of a dnb underworld to bring you his ‘Alliance EP’. And believe us when we say, this is one not to miss. 

Already firmly asserting himself amongst the Program roster, his meticulously crafted cuts have helped push the imprint as an underground tastemaker. And the unstoppable partnership is back, with a gritty and technically adept EP… Proving once again they’re a force to be reckoned with. 

As you'd expect, Stealth & Xtrah’s ‘Everytime’ is much different to its predecessors, although it’s just as precisely orchestrated. Pushed forward by domineering drum loops, Stealth’s style oozes in between each bar; it’s a frequency that drops dangerously low.  Wraith-like vocals dip in and out of the record’s stockier elements, with a juxtaposition which is tasteful whilst still making an impact. 

A host of alliances from one of Program’s finest Stealth unleashes another defiant slab of bass. It’s the lead up to his debut album, a step towards another phenomenal release from the artist. 

Stealth & Xtrah - Everytime

With ADE looming on the horizon, it only seemed apt for Ram to yet again provide the perfect drum and bass entrée for Europe’s premium dance event. Set to bring another stellar line up from their roster, this compilation packed full of exclusives helps to epitomise the imprint’s legacy within dance music. Including brand new cuts, demonstrating the Ram’s longevity, this album plays homage to two decades of output. 

Leading you deeper into the dark side of 2015, this year’s Ramsterdam compilation not only pedestals the artists who’ve made such a titanic impact throughout the last ten months, but also the emerging talent from sister label Program and Ram’s newest signees. Whether it’s the old school, growling riddim from Aggressor Bunx, or Calyx & TeeBee’s tell-tale, trembling bassline, each track gives the album a unique vantage point.

Featuring on the collosal track listing is Delta Heavy; an exclusive which relays their elevating, pumping composition, it’s a dancefloor banger sure to detonate any crowd. And Frankee also makes a welcomed return, following the release of his anticipated single ‘Downtown’. ‘Raptor’ is unforgiving, snapped up by different animalistic samples and stridently aggressive – pedestalling Frankee’s unforgiving production standards.

On a totally different vibe, Freek is back with ‘Born Different’, a clanking yet powerful number, one which gears up into LFO-lead chaos with snapping percussion between each break. Brand new music from production outfits Teddy Killerz and Mind Vortex also make a very valuable addition, proving their unbridled talent, with merciless yet complex records that are fierce and gagging to be let loose on Amsterdam’s clubs.  

Two of this year’s most resounding tracks from the Ram camp, Bensley’s ‘Aftermath’ and Gerra & Stone’s ‘L.I.E.S.’ have also received revamps, providing two anticipated VIPs already igniting sets worldwide. Loadstar also deliver the goods; brand new heavy-hitter ‘Dune’ demonstrates exactly why they’ve become such revered names across the genre.

So, here’s to another Amsterdam Dance Event. One with a soundtrack provided by one of the most enduring labels, and stellar rosters, that dance music has played host to. And with Ram also holding a night this October, from first listen onwards prepare to be immerse yourself in Ram’s vast musical environment.

The cover art proudly proclaims Technique's Summer 2016 album to be “100% Drum and Bass”. You might be forgiven for thinking that begs more questions that it answers. There's a huge breadth and versatility encompassed within the genre. So, you're left asking, what particular flavour of D&B are we talking about? Well, to answer your query, pretty much all of them.

Across thirty-seven tracks, Drumsound and Bassline Smith have assembled a cross-section of D&B that only has one thing in common: that summertime vibe. The label bosses themselves roll through with the fluid jungle of the Solah-laced “Cover Our Eyes”, the no-holds-barred funk of “Rise of the Black Panther” and their epic dubwise collaboration with Digital, “First World Problem”.

And then there are the big name cameos from artists not normally seen under the Technique banner. Brookes Brothers and Danny Byrd team up with the uplifting drive of “Climb High”, matched in hands-in-the-air power by the euphoric piano of The Prototypes' “Don't Let Me Go”. J Majik recruits 78° and Louie Cabrera for “Day I Left” and “Idcomercial” respectively. And the mighty DJ SS drops an emotively claustrophobic killer in the form of “Expression”.

Of course, the regular regiment of Technique soldiers are present and correct too. Tantrum Desire delivers the tech atmospherics of “Tesoro”, while Kronology subverts the big-room sound with the unpredictable twists and turns of “Everyday”. L Plus backs up rumbling bass and popping beats with entwined chord patterns in “Invincible”. Plus Document One show two different sides to their character, with the jazzfunk vibe of “Klaxon” and the paranoid sci-fi of “Say What”.

And we're nowhere near covering everything this album has to offer. From the jungle tear-out of Brian Brainstorm's “Badman Selector” to the minimal magic of Oder's “Mesmerize”, via the liquid purity of Salaryman's “He Knows”, this is a journey that needs to be experienced. Any selection that takes you straight from Fade's “Disco Ball” into Conspire's “Glare of Brass” then to Salaryman's “Synthesized Melancholia” is making a statement about the strength in depth of the D&B genre right now.

It's all here. This is the whole summertime drum and bass experience cut up into thirty-seven expertly-formed slices which, taken together, represent the full spectrum of what the scene has to offer. It's as simple as that.

Shades of orange bathe the streets in the neon glow of night. Under the artificial dome of the city, light from the dense urban landscape wraps itself against the overwhelming facades of towering habitats and server blocks, intermingling at the edges of imperceptible alleyways shrouded in darkness only broken by the flickering nocturnal emblems of deep night haunts of sleaze and virtual hedonism. The twins are at home here, every edge of the city mapped in their hybrid cerebellum, connected exquisitely with inter-dimensional technology stolen from the most intimate grasp of the AI governing the sprawl. Shattering the silence of the night with the abrasive roar of refined combustion and the precisely engineered mechanisms of their vehicles, the streets fly beneath them - acting as one, every corner taken with nothing to spare, utterly in the present - surgeons of the moment. The drones giving chase have no chance, unable to compensate for the perfectly calculated errors of humanity, every recalibration coming too late - THE CHASE is relentless and swift ... the immaculate pair vanish into the dense depths of the labyrinthine underworld with their haul of sonic artifacts.

Remarkable twin Russian production entity, Gancher & Ruin, follow up last year's induction to the label on Eatbrain's Mirror Universe LP with THE CHASE EP, delivering 4 powerful neurofunk weapons including a collaboration with label boss JADE in the form of gargantuan track JUMP! Known widely in the circles of the darkest drum and bass for their heavy sound, with this release the pair demonstrate a complex understanding of neurofunk, moving deftly between verdant sci-fi beauty and dense raw energy. Solo tracks THE CHASE, ELEMENTAL and DRAGONFLY are packed with dense energy for the dance floor, bringing Gancher & Ruin firmly further into the Eatbrain fold and cementing their place in the label's powerful roster.
