Something felt off, she couldn't put her finger on exactly what but it were as though she were detached from herself - her body merely a vessel for her mind to exist. She floated through her house, drifted through her office, hovered over the streets like a ghostly spirit that had left this planet long ago. What could bring her back to solid ground and connect her with her body once more? Or would her spirit wander for eternity?

Bitterfeld returns! The Leipzig-based label, affiliated with R.A.N.D Muzik Recordings, is dropping back down to earth with a brand new sampler and a fresh line up in attendance. The first edition of FOR A BITTER TOMORROW came all the way back in 2019 before the world got turned on its head and featured sonic nourishment from Guy Contact, label boss Carmel, Consulate and Bitterfeld regular Interviews. It's the latter who returns for 'Band 2', joined by fresh faces Salomo, Qwerty and Jónbjörn who explore the expanses of techno, braindance and electro.

Elusive techno silhouette Yaleesa Hall drops three new ones for their very own Dutch label Will & Ink. High-tempo techno and electro with the occasional sprinkling of EBM essence, this trio of tunes are as jackhammery as they are dreamy, with 'Newman' providing the gloomy foretaste; 'Shanks' the dreamy, electrified meat-on-the-bone; and 'Williams' the rapturous coda. Forever pushing the envelope, Hall hits with rapid fire, synth heavy techno to glitching, low-end electro and atmospheric electronica.

Yaleesa Hall is back on his home label Will & Ink with two EPs in quick succession. After releasing his debut album in 2016 this is the first solo output from the Amsterdam based producer on the label. This first EP is entitled Zoe Hayley Laura and features a trio of tracks that melt electro, techno and broken beats in arresting ways. Opening up the EP is Zoe Price, a silky electro track with shooting synths and big downward bass strikes that add real depth. It's a urgent and arresting affair to wake up the floor. Hayley Roach then has much more forceful drums that come in one two punch combinations to the gut. Synths writhe and gurgle up top as pads rise up and down the scale and the whole thing is brilliantly large. Laura Pomeroy then rocks back and forth on its heels, with train track like percussion and malfunctioning machine stabs. It’s a real tussle between different elements and locks you right in as a result. Once again then, the irrepressible Yaleesa Hall leads from the front.

Furious Frank returns to Butter Sessions with 'Ahora Sí'. The fully fledged house anthem is the result of a cross-continental collaboration with Barcelona based vocalist and producer Ivy Barkakati.

We're treated to four versions of 'Ahora Sí', all tested and ready for the dance floor and those special moments! Kicking it off, Frank delivers his "Original Acid Mix". A deep, squelchy lurker with nods to late 80's and 90's house music, peaking with thick piano chords and Barkakati's deep Spanish vocals. On the 'Sunrise' mix, the piano and chords become the focus and set the mood for an uplifting journey, bolstered by the raw thump and jack of the drum machines.

The flip side see's Barcelona based "IVAN" emerge with their version. The duo made up of Ivy Barkakati and Phran of Klasse Wrecks fame slow things down a touch, mangle the chords and inject the rhythm with flattering top-drawer percussion. Vancouver native D. Tiffany rounds the EP off with sub-heavy bass drops, hi-tek rhythms, euphoric vocal slithers and more stingin' acidic vibes.

Escape Artist - Digital Natives [Kalahari Oyster Cult]

@jenkemmag and Steel City Dance Discs unite for a high-energy compilation – each team bringing forth two artists of their choosing for a heavyweight bout across 4 tracks.

All four artists are up and coming international-based electronic musicians and DJ’s, regularly releasing records and appearing on the international club circuit (that once was). The combo represents a global take on Electro, Techno, Drum and Bass, and main room rave-style rhythms.

Jenkem Recordings is the music imprint of Jenkem Magazine, a skateboarding and culture platform, based in New York. Jenkem Recordings’ main goal is to continue to push the strong connections between music and skateboarding by finding new artists to support who have a strong connection to both communities.

Steel City Dance Discs is a record label exported from Newcastle, Australia AKA the Steel City. From House to Gabber, there’s no bracket for S.C.D.D.’s racket – the group has maintained a steady flow of genre-spanning records and tapes since 2016. With the members having originally connected through skateboarding, this collaboration between the two groups came as a natural one.
